Thank god for a distracting day after that which allowed me to forget for 6 hours that the spuds are above us. 10 shots on target without scoring, disappointing finishing but some great keeping from Forster. That Ozil save would have been a stunning goal :(.

Why the heck Coquelin didn't start is beyond me, if he wasn't match fit why play him for 70 minutes against Burnley?

To be fair, taking that approach with Coq shouldn't be questioned without more info.

Returning only 2 and a bit months from a 3 month injury requires caution be taken. If it means he's cherry ripe for Bournemouth and beyond then it's not as much of a concern as other aspects of the match.

Elneny is the interesting point. Why did he miss? And if he's fit, should he now be trusted with starting over Flamini? I'd argue yes.

Spurs are comfortably a better side than us at the moment. We're lucky Vertonghen is out which should lead to dropped points for them eventually. But we won't peg back all 3 clubs.
But they don't have depth either. One injury to Kane or Dier aswell and they will start to struggle.

Elneny only played his first game on the weekend. I assume it has more to do with team cohesion and fatigue than anything.

Our goal scoring form at the moment isn't great but tonight that was largely down to Forster having a blinder.

Just need to stop overreacting though. Coq has just returned as has Sanchez. Things will pick up. The only problem at the moment for me is Walcott. He's just been absolutely useless. I'd rather Iwobi or Ox come on instead of him.

Our last 7 league results:

Southampton (a): 4-0 loss
Bournemouth (h): 2-0 win
Newcastle (h): 1-0 win
Liverpool (a): 3-3
Stoke (a): 0-0
Chelsea (h): 0-1 loss
Southampton (h): 0-0

9 points from 21 available - despite 4 of the last 7 games at home.

It isn't an overreaction. This is a trend that is clearly worse than just one or two bad games. We haven't played well since December.

They have had an excellent run of injuries this season, had they had the equivalent players missing that we have had they would be nowhere near the top.

Have to put them down as a threat now though, if they don't get any more injuries they will be right up there.

Spurs have no injuries due to Poch's methods moreso than luck.

They are an extremely fit, well-conditioned and physically impressive side. The fact is they haven't had as many injuries and they deserve to be rated higher than we do right now.

Arsenal injuries, poor referees, keep playing great vs Us, same shit every year.

This is 100% correct.

Arsene's press conferences are unwatchable at times. You'd like to think it's all a front and he's just spinning shit while saying differently behind closed doors. But the reported tunnel incident this morning and various comments he makes (referencing the Costa red card, saying that game was a "special circumstance") are cringeworthy and basically convey a sulky and "woe is me" culture at the club.

Accountability. Where is it?

You can be super fit and conditioned and still get injured though during games/training from tackles.

Well yeah. But I look at some of Spurs' midfield players (Dembele, Dier, Alli) compared to ours (Ramsey, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Rosicky) and it's any wonder those particular players for us have more issues withstanding the rigours of the game.

Most of ours don't look like premier league footballers or strong athletes in general. The sheer prevalence of injuries to these players - many of which are soft tissue injuries - suggests there's a lot more to our injury woes than bad luck.

Flamini started all bar the Bournemouth game. It is unacceptable that he continues to get a game when there is far better options on the bench.

This is 100% correct.

Guaranteed the team talk is completely different. Wenger will always deflect the performance of his side in press conferences.

This is precisely what I mean by accountability. Continuously playing Flamini rates somewhere between "unacceptable" and "recklessly negligent".

You would really hope so. The players certainly don't play like it.

Case in point - Kos sulking on his knees after the Chelsea game is exactly what you don't want from your leaders. He then proceeds to miss our best chance of the game this morning when it was easier to score.

Mentally, this squad is weak. Bar the 3-4 world class players we have and Coquelin.

Time to stop.

The players don't care because they are so protected. Let them feel the backlash for once and see what it is like.

Was travelling overnight and this morning.

Probably not such a bad thing that I missed watching this one live. Disappointing result. Is it that 3 scoreless league games in a row? And 3 points from our last available 12.

Long way to go this season. But it goes without saying, we need to get our shit together asap.

Is Elneny injured?

12 wins needed to win the title, 14 matches left to do it in.

Our remaining fixtures:

Bournemouth (away)
Leicester (home)

United (away)
Swansea (home)
Spurs (away)
WBA (home)
Everton (away)
Watford (home)
West Ham (away)
Palace (home)
Sunderland (away)
Norwich (home)

City (away)
Villa (home)

If my predictions are correct, we finish on 77 points. ffs, we HAVE to take 6 points from the United/Spurs/City/Everton quad if we're to win the league.

I love your optimism but I can only count 7 wins out of that lot... And that's said without any confidence atm...

Nothing is guaranteed unfortunately at Arsenal (aside from a top 4 finish).

When we can't even score a goal, its difficult to project too far ahead which games we will win.

Which are the 7 wins?
For mine it's Swansea, WBA, Watford, Palace, Sunderland, Norwich & Villa but like glenferry23 has said, right now nothing is said with any confidence. All the other games are 50/50 I reckon. At least we know that we'll finish the season strong as per usual!

I just don't feel there's enough goal-scorers playing for us at the moment. We're so heavily reliant on Sanchez Giroud or Ozil to score. Would like to see the Ox come in to start some games... maybe even in the middle of the park in place of Flamini, just to change things up.

End of the day we need to attack teams more and we're going in very defensive. Southampton barely created a chance against us; needed a more attacking lineup on the pitch for the entire 90 mins.

Bloody frustrating month.

As good as Ozil is not even he is a goal scorer we are just pretty much reliant on Giroud or Sanchez for goals, 37 in 24 league games is a poor return for a so called top side.

Well yeah you're exactly right. Just not enough genuine firepower in the side. We basically need someone to go on a big goalscoring run asap or we're effed.
