kane was never a good kick. And I never saw his confidence increase or decrease. I can only remember 1 game where he looked like he had turned the corner. I know it was in 05 as I was in the pub in Hamilton island. Maybe against the bombers.

And yes, they wanted Kane but we only offered Moloney (imagine if that had have fallen over, good god, where would we be now? Whoops there I go again).
And it would never have been Kane for Ottens. It was two 1st round picks for Ottens

I remember joining just after we lost to North in 07 down at K park i was shattered and kept thinking to myself i wish Geelong would just do something like win a Grand Final or give me belief that they may win a GF. I was angry at the time of joining so it was the main thought in my head. Id never heard of BF until my Bro in law told me about it.

Isn't it funny how things turn out 5 years on.

Mine is a long story which I will try to keep short, hopefully will still make sense.
In another lifetime I trained to become a teacher and as happened back then you did teaching rounds under a supervisor who then prepared a report on how you went.
As it so happened my supervisor was the boyfriend of another good friend so I eagerly awaited my golden approval to become a bona fida teacher.
Imagine my shock on basically being told I was hopeless, it was only then that I noticed my surname had been butchered and recorded as Theobadger, phew the report was bogas, and I had been had.
Years later retelling this story lead to me being known simply as Badger.
When email hit town I tried to register my username as Badger, but this was taken.
Then one day while bored and watching nature shows on TV the narrator asked" Who is the nastiest animal in all of Africa"
Apparently not the Lion, nor the Hippo etc.
It was in fact the Badtempered Badger, hence a username was born
Long winded yes, interesting, probably only to me.
There you go a great thread all the same.

i thought his kicking was ok in his first season and he did regress, but may need to follow up on some youtube footage.

Yeah, I know there were two draft picks involved - 12 and 16 wasn't it? But it would have been Kane instead of Brent for Brad (plus the extra pick).

Sheedy was very keen to get Tenace over to Ess. at one stage - early on no doubt. I recall they were desperate for leg speed (as they call it) and he was sought out during trade week I think.

I am pretty sure after his first season or two Kane had a confidence crisis. I remember BT being reported as having to spend lots of time trying to convince him he could play at AFL level. Obviously Bomber was wrong. Another good reason to be rid of him!
