D3 reserves with just the 1 game on Saturday. La Trobe with a forfeit at home is not a good look this early in the season.

If it wasn't already, the grade has become embarrassing for HQ.
Why have Masala 2 teams in the 3rds?

Another club on the move. OYC to EFNL
Interesting. The current day Cobras have a history of mergers and name changes that would make Glen Eira envious (sorry - I love GE but couldn’t resist!). Are they retaining current identity or rebadging as a suburban club (e.g. the previous Bulleen United amongst others) or perhaps even reverting back to being the school affiliate based at the school in Croydon?

Just what the EFNL needs, another club joining the comp where a glut of already struggling clubs exist.

Despite being winless this season, do you have any insight into the reason for the decision to leave?
Had 5/6 retirements from their GF side then also had players move to EFNL for money

No never played for them or any of their affiliates and have no great insights about the club. I just respect what they have done to keep the various entities alive in some form. Would mean a lot to the past players and supporters. A few from my club have made their way there over the years in various roles and talk highly of the place. As you know it's not easy for ammo teams in an area awash with paying clubs.

It's very tough , luckily a couple are basket cases which is sad, money doesn't solve anything , look at some of the SFL ressies results

Another merger GE should consider is Caulfield , who are really struggling in Div2 SFL , they have much better facilities as well . This is not shit stirring , there are just too many clubs and more mergers will take plavce

Long time reader but first time post!

Long story short, cause the VAFA catered to the demands of Div 1 and Div 2 teams essentially. Plan was always to move back to divisional this year for them and the VAFA, but were told in about Jan/feb chaddy, eley and Swinburne were moving to clubbies as they wanted a Div 4 after the difference in class last year and it wasn’t able to happen. What was said (roughly) is that they wanted to have a Div 4 up again but meant some movement from the above divisions which was knocked back as no one wanted to go down and fix the holes of creating it. So the discussion was with other clubs is that either they (all 4 teams, I do believe AP and Box were offered too) remain in D3 for a year and move hopefully to a Div 4 comp next year or clubbies among themselves as best they can (to make like a Div 4) in hopes all can return next year.
Not a fan on how things are run in the below divs but I do believe they tried to cater as best they could to the bottom teams to help hopefully get things right for next year.

Side note, I believe, that’s why they pushed box hill so hard to stay in the Div 3 before everything, as it would’ve left them with either needing to merge into Div 2 (which would make more lopsided scores) or have what they have now.

They have 2 teams one dominating Div 5 3rds that's not fair
