He was so tough and ready to dish it out that even Cloke was scared of him. Also enjoyed in that game when he punched KB in the guts with a little sneaky one the umpire didn’t see as it was on his blind side and Bartlett went sooking to the umpy .

Yep, was seated on the boundary in the back pocket at the ‘82 GF - Watched Mario punch the nose off Cloke in a scuffle they had.
Wasn’t captured by the cameras, but ensured Cloke was looking around the corner for the rest of the day.
Gave him a beating in every sense of the word.
What a wonderful day for a young fellow at the time - Can still remember Helen being walked past us in her cardigan - Thinking how good is this !!!!
Vale big fella - Was a privilege to watch you through our greatest period
