‘Truly heartbroken’: Zac Williams mourns death of his sister Sammy to cancer

Carlton defender Zac Williams has paid a loving tribute to his sister Sammy, who died of cancer on Tuesday.

My heart goes out to Zac Williams during this difficult time.
It seems his sister was a massive influence on his life & career and will be a big loss.

There was a lot of love between Zac and Sammy, condolances to the whole family.

Sure was. Story not well known. Clearly had a diagnosis before he was signed. Adds some perspective to that first pre season when he was last to join group and fat as a seal. Covid lockdowns and focussing on his beloved sister explain a lot. I remember him saying he had been grateful of the opportunity of extended time with his sister. I did not join the dots then, but easy to do so now.

Bloke will come back a “machine” after his injury and do his sister proud. Power to you Zac. RIP Sammy.
