It tends to happen with many teams that might have a particularly dominant player (esp compared to the rest of the internal ranks). When the dominant player is out of the side you get a spread of lift across the team. From what I've noticed this diminishes over time. So it works short term (first week or two) but not something that is sustainable in the medium term, unless/until other players develop to become top-flight players themselves.

Firmly believe we have the cattle to do that (sustain the lift I mean).

I would imagine it’s all clubs, they know enough people will continue to be members with zero effort.

Not just the clubs, the AFL business model is based on it. Essentially the AFL has been using the capital developed when footy was a true community sport and spending it on glory projects like expansion into Albania and god knows where else that dont give a rats about Australia or our brilliant quirky game.

Did anyone see the reworked ladder on the couch on fox footy
Basically reworked the ladder based on teams kicking for goal based on average scores across the league

Freo at 6th.
west coast at 17th

westciast kick winning scores due to an unbelievable accuracy

While Freo - speaks for itself

I don’t know how you positive guys do it, I’ve had extended leaves from footy because of how many times I’ve been let down by this club. I don’t want it to be but our performances this year are feeling like the nail in the coffin for me, seriously deflating stuff watching us not even be ****ing competitive against any top 8 side bar the one upset we get a year. We are the next Carlton.

Moose got an absolute bath tonight. 😔

Lol. The goals Jeff farmer used to kick at least gave as glimpses of happiness. We have nothing anymore.
