Here's a bit of a vent. Not a HUGE vent just a tiddly one.

Every time I see a new post has been posted to our Gold Coast Suns 2016 Draft Thread, I go there to see what's the latest goss on the AFL scene and all I see lately are posts about the bl**dy US basketball draft. I now that's of interest to some of you but c'mon fellas please take your basketball stuff somewhere else and just post AFL stuff on this thread.;)

Fair call, will do

Veterans list is getting the flick next year and about time. This year alone both North Melbourne and Hawthorn have 5 veterans which enables them to spend an extra $640,000 outside the cap. A rule change that helps us a little for once.

Two-fold

Veterans may not stick around as long, helping us against older teams

May also grease the wheels in getting players to move (here)

Good stuff

Sorry, I'm a follower not a leader. Honestly I just reply to people and didn't realize what thread it was.

any word on the indigenous round jumper yet? the suns are always among the last to show theirs for some reason.

I hope Gold Coast keep their design, I was a real fan of last year's one. Plus since Gold Coast will be playing in WA, I'd rather I see them play in something I'm more familiar with. They probably can't though, lat year's design might clash with West Coast's yellow indigenous jumper.

Is it a new design every year? Do clubs occasionally do older jumpers? Like Gold Coast wear their second or third year one? Some are really sweet and it would be a shame to only wear it once.

Yeah every team makes a new one every year. Here's what I've seen so far. Carltons is the best imo.

I like those. Just seems weird you see them once and never again.

There's generally some significance in who designs them. For instance, the Crows had Eddie Betts aunt design theirs. They make a new one to kind of add a new story each year. It's pretty cool imo. Also I'm sure it sells a lot of jumpers. But yeah, some of the jumper designs deserve more than a game to shine. A lot of times they look better than the teams normal guernsey.

Totally agree. If some of these were their normal jumpers I probably am a supporter of a different club.

Guess I'm just used to the American money grab. They would be awesome collectibles. Are these sold? Past ones as well?

Another question for the open session

Every week we are asked to wave our Metricon banners like mad things to win a voucher. EVERYY TIME however it goes to someone directly behind the presenter EVERY ****ING TIME it's another example of how the members are treated like fools

Here's a question I'd like answered......on top of our sickening injury toll, we are required to travel to Domain in RD2 to play Freo, and then 8 weeks later travel to Domain once more, to play West Coast, while a Victorian team like the Western Bulldogs get to play their first 7 games at Etihad and for their 8th game, travel just down the road a bit to the MCG....

Can someone explain to me, how/why this type of fixturing occurs......apart from the obvious, that it's an unfair competition.......

On second thoughts, don't answer it, cause there's no logical explanation.....I'm just having a vent, and it's only 2.30pm, and I haven't even had a drink
yet;)

We don't play at the Adelaide Oval this year but play in Perth twice. Surely they could've scheduled one of the perth games in Adelaide so we only play once in each state.
