Could be interesting to see how the team would go with Dalhaus, Higgins and Williams in.

Addison played a very good game and kept presenting right up until the end. Same with Dickson. JJ showed what he can do. Pearce, although having a few stray kicks did well. A lot of these newer guys also have good speed. Will be great to see how they do once the team is settled.

Second half was pretty average. At least a 2 quarter effort is better than the 1 quarter efforts they've given in the last few weeks.

There also seemed to be more run and carry in this game rather then handballing backwards. Nice to see.

By no means a good game, but you can at least see the potential.

When I say rubbish, I'm referring to the number of easy opportunities that were missed which would have resulted in a 30point loss, or so. The outcome would have been the same, we all know that

Didnt see the game but noticed that Matthew Boyd had a stack of possessions again. Were they effective disposals today or just went anywhere as he has done in the past?

Boyds possesions were good, but not great.
His kicks weren't spray and pray type kicks, but kicks to team mates who were more open. Nothing really damaging. A lot of handballs as well.

I've worked out why our disposal efficiency is so shit. We don't lead. After half time it was like BMac told the boys to put cement shoes on. So instead of hitting up a lead we have to go to a 1v1 - which becomes 1v2 because to give our player a chance we have to pop it up.

Then on the rare occasion we do move we all lead to the same spot. If we were sitting in North's position on the ladder today I would've broken my TV in frustration today.

In my humble opinion, Skinner's gone.

Talia's not ready, his pre-season should start now.

In the end the result was about our average for this half of the year but somehow it didn't feel as dispiriting, thanks to a few blokes genuinely doing their best.

Oh, and we don't give Picken enough credit. Should be top three in the B&F.

I was at the game and I'm pretty certain Zephy had nil marks nil kicks and just 4 handballs. Simply not good enough for AFL

Annoyed with that second half performance. JJ was reasonable on debut and Talia was what you'd expect out of a first year KPD.

Skinner is gone though.

yeah if you want to have an awesome look at our game plan, generating shots at goal, and our young kids, just watch the first 1.5 quarters of our last 4 or so games. We're not fit but that's about it. The structures are good.
REVELATION: Roughy as a key back. Our backline for the future is piecing itself together. Same with our midfield.
Howard is improving now, getting more comfortable.
Clay is a tackling machine, and based on Libba and Wallis' improvement after one year in the system with a pre season the best is yet to come. Could learn to kick.
Addison is a good forward, has reasonable skills and actually plays in front of his opponent, 5 shots on goal plus everything else he does is a good result.
Pearce is a good kid. Johannisen showed some talent.
Campbell will probably be a No. 1 ruck now that Roughy's being played back, which is good, but i can see that having him at FF is just to give him game time.

Negatives: - Spindle shanks lowered his colours a bit after some good improvement.
- DJ and Skinner don't belong in an AFL team.
- Woeful kicking for goal
- Tutt wasn't great, but it's not a big worry, just young. Not looking comfortable yet.

I don't think Skinner has ever been good enough for VFL let alone AFL, but I'm sure he'll start to look good again next year up in Darwin.

It would be nice to see us play a 4-quarter game for once and not let the floodgates open. It could be worse though, at least we're not Port Adelaide.

I'm reasonably happy. I have a lot of confidence in our structures, our inability to run out games is what kills us. That last quarter you could see our guys were pretty much dead on their feet.

Agree about Picken but not on your comments regarding Talia , thought he was very good first up and should play the rest of the season - beat Hansen today easily.]

Kicking eff today was a poor 34%

Talia was adequate against a mediocre opponent and I certainly don't want to suggest he's not up to it or anything.

But his kicking is bad as we all know and kicking technique can be taught and improved with properly resourced coaching, if you get in early enough. I don't want yet another Dog maturing into a player with a major technical flaw.

Even the North supporters would say the margin flattered them, chiefly because we are so poor at shooting for goal. Thought we now have a lot more pace with some new inclusions- though this is offset by a generallack of ability to run out games and some poor decision making.

Cross, Hargrave, Gilbee, Cooney, Williams and Morris- how many of these guys will be back?

SKINNER LOL. Surely a farewell match, he is good for absolutely nothing.

Addison not bad up front, Roughead (surprisingly) not bad down back. Usual suspects played alright, just had no legs.

Agreed with Easty, we just do not lead to the footy. Everyone is so stagnant.

In the first half we got what Mac promised us in spades, hard and ruthless footy in each aspect of the game. For very little reward. In the second half it all fell away. There is a relationship there with respect to fitness and a growing concern about our ability to work through adverse situations. 3 goal deficit = game over, unfortunately.

Skinner isn't up to it :(.
DFA and Roughie put in a heartening day's work.
'Goal sense,' doesn't exist at our club.
Too many cheap goals off a stoppage I50

I thought Talia gave Hansen an absolute bath, just one junktime goal and a couple of marks for Hansen. Looked impressive with ball in hand too. Pearce continues to improve. Solid debut from JJ.

Skinner tried really hard but doesn't quite look up to it.

Was a solid performance for 3ish quarters, but hating these fadeouts

Lol, no he didn't. He's going to be a gun stopper but I'm a better kick than him and that says a lot.

Is it just me, or does it look like Clay has improved his kicking a bit? Still looks pretty unco, and his efficiency was only 54%, but it seems to be a bit better than at the start of the year. He gets good depth on it where he wants to kick it, it's just the sideways accuracy which he seems to struggle with.

Just my opinion, he missed some targets, but just seemed more comfortable with the ball in his hands than a lot of his team mates. We'll see how he goes in the coming weeks
