The fact that I could have squeezed out 44 more points by fielding the right players. This would have made a difference. I would have won all my league games bar 1. And I'd have cracked to 2000 pts.

I think just about everyone can squeeze out an extra 40 points every week of the season by picking players X over players Y.

Not really ground breaking it happens to everyone and everyone gets there fair share. I research patterns and scoring trends really hard and i miss out on just as many points. I doubt you do any of the research i do, so stop complaining. :thumbsu:

I bet your one of those people who had Ablett or Boyd captain

At least you have Bugg... imagine having a campaigner instead. :p

Id rather have a K.unt than a Bugg :D:cool:

In all seriousness i had reason to pick K.Hunt over Bugg he scored better then him in the NAB and thats what i went of. I thought GWS would score similar to GC did last year which so far hasnt been the case.

Bugg was scoring 45-60 in NAB. The reason i picked Hunt was because of his NAB 4 game (he had 20 disposals and 6 clearances and only played 60-70% TOG). It was also well publicized that he would play midfield which i thought would be extra points. His JS also seemed much better at the time then any of the other prospects and with my backline i went very cheap so thought JS on the bench was important.

I still have confidence with him avg 55-60. He scored 61/63? in R1, R2 he played the saints who demolished them, R3 he played very well and got 39 dt points in the wet where everyone scores less then usual which is normally the case.

Certainly gave strong thought with Broughton > Bugg last week. However didnt think i could run the risk of weakening my backline any further and i expect Bugg to be rested at times as all young GWS players will. Unfortunately he could come back to bite me a little as he is certainly making very quick cash carries over a nice - BE to the next few rounds aswell.

:o:o:o

campaigner: Average 41.7
Bugg: Average: 82.3

I know it's only early days, but I wouldn't be surprised if campaigner averages less than 40 AGAIN & Bugg does a Heppell2011 and becomes a B7 keeper averaging 80+ for the year. :)

Kudos to Keystone for having the balls to pick Hunt. His role has definitely changed but unfortunately his time in the middle has not equated to any DT relevance yet

I gave some serious consideration to selecting Hunt for the start of the season, I think it came down to luck that I went with Bug, Morris, Ellis and Townsend instead.

It's still way to early to make a call that Bugg will be the Heppell of 2012, but he is showing some good signs.

I thought you were the PPM proponent?

Bugg had 61 PPM TO Hunt's 52

If you ignore the first round, (which I believe is a mistake), Bugg scored as many points in 2 games as Hunt did in 3.

all whilst being 30% cheaper

Personally I ranked their pre seasons @ ~65 Bugg (+44) & @ ~40 Hunt (+11)

Bugg is an AFL footballer, K Hunt is a Rugby player learning to play AFL

For a rugby guy playing inside mid his tackle count is very low. You'd naturally expect him to average more than 2 tackles per game in his current role.
Also he's had only 3 kicks to 19 handballs in the last 2 weeks. While this trend continues (win contested ball - handball it to Gaz) he won't be a DTmers arseh*le.

His shirt front should have been 10 points it was that good.. lol I went with Hunt, Bugg, Paine and Morris.. So far its been a turbulent experience... At least 3 of them are playing.. Only really can rely on Bugg and Morris, Hunt is unpredictable and Paine has been dropped, but i expect him to be back this week.. They will only use 1 ruckmen vs Port you would think, and with Jolly injured you'd imagine they will rest him till anzac day at least.

Not sure what you are talking about or what NAB you watched for 2012?

Bugg didn't play NAB 2 and K.Hunt only played 30% TOG so i don't take into consideration any games under 45-50% as it doesn't give enough time for any player to get in the game.

So lets look at R3 and R4 of the NAB.

Bugg avg 56.5 from 91.5% TOG, while Hunt avg 50.5 from 71.5% TOG

Bugg 56.5/91 = 0.62 PER TOG% played. While Hunt 50.5/71.5 = 0.71 points scored per TOG%.

Im not sure how Bugg is any better.

Why would you involve round 1 of the NAB the teams are no where near AFL best 22 sides. Essendon basically didn't take anyone in there best 15 to play in subi against freo or eagles?

If i was a hack dreamteamer like yourself i wouldve picked Bugg as the cheat sheets told me too from DTT and also everyone was thus i needed to

As ive already said my main focus of rookie backs was JS with Morris, Ellis and K.Hunt IMO all having better JS then M.Clarke and Bugg.

Had i had my time over again, known the exact same figures i would've done the exact same thing. Hunt has hardly been horrible. Hopefully he scores a 60+ against Brisbane this week and increases his TOG.

I picked Bugg because he was named on the field in the first game and thought it was better than picking players that were not named, like Couch. Does that make me a hack too?

They play different positions thus are compared with different players.

It was either Couch or Hall with a 4 forward rookie structure. I didnt like Halls scoring ability through NAB and i liked Couch's he was also promoted before round 1. Listening to Essendon talk and their list manager talk they said they would not upgrade unless the player was going to play the following week because you lose a lot money by not playing them and by upgrading them.

So i thought a club as decimated with money as Melbourne and on their knees like them would play him, as i knew it wasnt in round 1 i thought at least it would be round 2 or 3 at worst as i expected them to get flogged in the opening rounds and all year and be a bottom 3 side. I can only predict so much.

You will fall away with trading like a lot of the BF world and start to suffer your own fate with injuries problems and bad luck.
