And in relation to the thread, Vesz has class and talent Didak can only dream off.

You're kidding.

I admire your loyalty, but that's so far off the mark.

Veszpremi has to deliver on all the promise and establish a regular place in our senior team for now. Didak is one of the most damaging players in the competition and, on form, one of the best half-dozen right now.

Breaaaaaaaathe bateman I was exaggerating/joking
but one day we will see the VESZSTAR and he will OWN didak in EVERYTHING.

and as for bedford, i presume the 96 is aimed at me so i will say its my mum that finds him hot.. not me... loyal to brett.

The first game I saw Vez play was 16 months ago on the Bus Loop Oval outside the SCG, in the annual reserves fixture in the week before the season gets under way. They played the Rams U18 side, so you have to make some allowance for the youth and inexperience of the opposition.

But in the first half he played up forward and was a marking machine. He must have taken half a dozen in the first quarter alone. Sadly his kicking for goal was a bit off radar but it was clear how strong he is overhead and how he attacks the ball in the air.

In the second half they moved him into the midfield for a stint and his ability to read the fall of the ball from the ruck tap, to look forward and see an option forward everso quickly, to find space in traffic, and then to dispatch a kick to match that vision was highly, highly impressive even allowing for the opposition.

That is the sort of post that should be elsewhere, this is about a player that might help reignite the Swans for the Chardonay types up there and put bums on seats and help sell memberships !

Oi! I wasn't the one who made this off-topic.

Agree wholehearedly Bedford!
He is exciting to watch & will put bums on seats. I think Roos has come out with some doom & gloom in some of his interviews this year so as not to let us get our hopes up & put too much pressure on these youngsters so soon.
But there is absolutely no doubt that we have the nucleus of a top team ready for the next tilt at the flag. We mustn't forget that in 2 or 3 years time, their bodies will be bigger & they will have the smarts passed on to them by Kirk & Co, much as Kels & Maxfield & co did to the current crop!

Sure, our senior players won't be around then but look at Geelong, Saints & Dogs. Some of their key older players will be struggling or be retired by then as well. Brad Johnson of the Dogs is a key part of their forward line ATM. So is Aker, Welsh & Hahn. Every club is in the same boat.
The Hawks lost Crawford to retirement & now they haven't got that key experience. The Bombers may be up & coming but their two key players in the last 2 weeks have been Lucas & Lloyd. How many years have they left?

No worries for us supporters because we are in good hands with the BEST coach in the competition...............................reason why he is being hounded by some Victorian clubs......................heavily too if I've heard correctly!

Cheers & stay excited no matter what happens for the rest of 2009 & 2010 because we will again be a force without bottoming out, just as Roos has said!:)

exciting, promising, hot .... blah blah blah

back to the OP.... yes, i can envisage him in the didak mould, a class act footballer who'll play deeper down the ground, kick goals.... vespa not as much a run and carry footballer imo, which seems to be the big difference

for a guy who has played less than 10 games, he's pumped up far too much

however what i would say, is that he should tone down the celebrations down a bit.... he'll be copping some flack if he continues like that

Whilst Didak has honours that Veszpremi only dreams of.

Eg, a best & fairest, an All-Australian jumper, proven finals performer, etc, etc

Awww take a joke then get back to me hoggy.

Joke or not, Hoggy was well within his rights to point out the stupidity of the statement.

....And everyone else is well within their rights to hang shit on him for having no sense of humour. You've gone soft Mase. If this was the North Melbourne board Hoggy would be on a 2 week vacation already:p

And he should be pumped up, because he will be a very good player and the celebrations are all right when you kick a goal like that on your wrong side and i don't think you would see a Moore kicking one like that.

the celebration is good to see every now and again

but he carries on, like he just won the game off his own boot

probably just me, but i have fears he may be one of those players who will celebrate after any goal regardless of the margin, even if god-forbid 100 pts down

Hmm better put a smiley face so Hoggy doesn't get too upset ;)

just seen that Vez celebration again, good to see even Roos having a giggle about it i missed that the first time..

He's 19 years old. He's excited. He's just kicked his first goal of the year after what must have been a very frustrating few months on the sidelines.

If he's still celebrating like that at age 30 maybe we should get worried but nuffin' wrong with a bit of youthful exuberance, IMO.

I have no issue with his celebration and when he spoke to the media he explained the reason for it. This is what the swans need passion for winning.

We have some serious wet blankets around here if you've got a problem with his celebration, he's young and excited and that's the only explanation I need. If only we had more players like him!

i have no problem with him celebrating

but you can't deny it was a little over the top, and this isn't the first over the top celebration from him

as he's a youngster it's fine

but the novelty of a youngster kicking goals, and celebrating as if he just hooked up with miranda kerr will quickly wear off

i'm just pointing out the obvious
