VFL VFL 2020 Fixture (released - post 10)

The AFL has reportedly rolled the grouped fixture across to the VFL. In theory it should see us net an easier fixture after a disappointing bottom 5 finish, however as we've seen with the AFL stooges in the seniors these things are conveniently flexible.

Preferable most games at vic park so I can just walk there for free lol

Exactly! And hopefully none at Olympic Park, although those scheduled before a senior game at the G are popular with some.

With a total of eight home games, the Magpies will see games shared between the Holden Centre and the club’s spiritual home at Victoria Park.
The team will also play a curtain raiser match ahead of Collingwood’s AFL game on Sunday 24 May at Marvel Stadium (Round 8 VFL).
Four of the team’s games will be broadcasted on Channel Seven.

Home games:

3 Vic Park
R9 - Sandringham
R13 - Frankston
R20 - Coburg

4 Holden Centre
R1 - Box Hill
R4 - Essendon
R15 - tigs
R16 - Geelong

1 Marvel
R8 - North Melb

Very disappointing to have just the three games at Victoria Park. While it’s also disappointing that the traditional ANZAC clash has been moved away from Vic Park, I like that it’s being played on ANZAC day. Can’t say I’m looking forward to the home game at Marvel either - it will be lifeless with a VFL crowd.

In terms of away games I’m yet to see a game at Trevor Barker Oval or Arden St, so their certainly ones I’ll pencil in along with Werribee.

So four at Holden Centre (yuk), three at Vic Park and one at Marvel.

Should get to the three at Vic Park and Preston games only.:(
Yeah, I’m not a big fan of games at the Holden Centre. Three are Friday evening games (6pm, 4.30pm & 4.30pm) while the fourth is an ANZAC day curtain raiser.

Combined with the Marvel match the club has certainly prioritised same day curtain raisers next door or at the venue over “traditional” Saturday/Sunday games.

As a VFL watcher these curtain raisers appeal much less than an arvo or morning at footy. Maybe I need to find a suburban club to support to get that atmosphere.

I am guessing the Idea of the Friday Night Games as they be before Friday Night Games so People can do the Double Header.

Even with Holden Center is a Terrble Place to watch Footy

4.30pm makes it damn hard with work though. I suspect a lot of people will only see the second half.

I'm not a fan of the 4:30 Friday VFL starts for four reasons.

1. An emergency has to miss out on playing the game that weekend.
2. Vic Park is better to watch footy at than the Holden Centre.
3. By the time you leave work and then get something to eat in the city the first half of the VFL has already finished.
4. Its such a nice relaxed atmosphere at a Saturday arvo Vic Park game after a seniors win on a Friday night.

and IF AFL Game is 1st then in VFL we can have a Full Team and not one who is Missing a Few Players

They look after the VFL Teams more then the AFL Reserve Teams
Bullshit
The AFL standalone, and AFL affiliated get everything they want.

If you don't like Collingwood's fixture, maybe ask Collingwood what they requested

Well I guess then that shows the Club does not think of there Fans when they asked what they Wanted

Dave, our VFL team isn't about wins or losses or getting big crowds or using our spiritual home.
It's about developing players for the seniors, end of.
