Lot of pressure on Frankston today. We're 1-2 with a tough draw this year and Werribee has been a difficult place for us for years now. We need to at least put in a competitive effort today.

Very impressive were Willy today v Southport.

Missed the best part where Willy jumped out to 14 goals to 1 to lead by 80 late in the 2nd qtr.

No Preuss today but it didn't matter. Parks is a star.

First time I've seen them this year - and it was only for a half - but Willy looked very sharp, very skilful and defended well. Looked better than 2025.

Southport were surprisingly overwhelmed and only kicking 4 of the last 5 goals made the score a little more respectable.

Another highlight was meeting a visitor from Bolton UK staying with his son in Willy who was buying a Willy polo shirt who couldn't believe Willy is over 160 years old - "that's older than Bolton Wanderers my team back home". Nice.

A fun game Werribee vs Funky-town. We really need a win next week though!

Port in a bit of trouble

More than a a bit I would say, won’t get anywhere near double figure wins. It’s interesting people thought a coaching change is all we needed, stratty was almost having a panic attack by swearing all we needed was a coaching change and anybody who disagreed with him wasn’t a real supporter, well fast forwards a couple of years and that coaching change has come, in fact it’s arguably the best coaching panel in the competition yet the results have us at a worse win loss ratio than skrobolak. Sometimes the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

Another season of merely making up the numbers and expect that to be the case in the near future with the selling of the REX which limits regular income.

This season has become a concern for Frankston. While we managed to avoid getting blown out and kept the margin to five goals or less, we couldn't string any good form together yesterday save for a few minutes at a time and the result felt quite inevitable.

It's clear that the departure of guys like Murphy, Blamires, and Campbell-Farrell have hurt us and so far our recruitment hasn't managed to compensate like it did in 2024. With the tough draw we have this year, there really isn't much room for error if we want to make finals again.

Genuine question - is the sale of the REX a financial decision (necessity?) or a social decision to exit Pokies?

Hoping Port can get it together.

And CMFEU
Needed a younger coach up with modern footy and the new GM is an absolute dud

Footscray will be very beatable with more players being called up to replace injured regulars. Swans and Sharks should salute.

Who in your opinion will go up ?

Busslinger for Odonnell
Coffeild for Lobb
If smith doesn't get a game he never will at this point…
Treloar for Libba
Dolan or vandermeer for Croft

Richards and Bont might play injured but I question the value sometimes

I don't think so at this stage but I like that he shows bit of class with ball in hand at times.

It was worded as it no longer being financially viable yet when looking at the figures people not on the board must be missing something as it appeared that it was still a decent income stream. How successful have stand alones been without pokies ? Not very - can’t see why we would be any different and find success without it. One day I might get proven wrong which I welcome but it won’t be for a while yet.

To be fair he hasn’t got a great list to work with, probably our weakest list for 11 years (or more).
