JA and Kevin Dyas have had a clash of bodies and the commentators are reporting that Dyas may have injured his knee. :( Very preliminary though.

Anthony is playing on, and has continued to be very good today.

They're now saying Dyas was able to walk off the ground, which is a positive sign.

They're really talking up Stanley's game on the commentary now.

Egan might be a player who'd thrive in a different environment. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another opportunity. His trade value is bugger-all though. :(

On the positive side, it seems McCarthy can really play, and Anthony is killing them. :thumbsu:

Does anyone think Egan will ever play AFL again?

Depends on retirements and trades I think. If we trade a couple for a player and a pick, if we have a few retirements then there is room for Egan.

I would rather keep Egan on our list than Cook, Iles and Toovey if the latter three don't show anything. Basically out of the 4, if none of them show anything I'd prefer Egan.

How's Wood Going?

Dyas cocked it up...running and bouncing through defensive goal square, the ball bounced over his shoulder straight to a Sandy player for a goal.

LOL Im sorry but this Collingwood VFL side is looking more and more like a comedy channel as the weeks go on.

Just Sounds like Dyas got a Weird Bounce:(

Wood has been ordinary. Browney wanted him to lift after halftime, but hasn't happened.

Big disappointment has been Dawes. This guy has taken about 10 steps backwards this season. Not sure if it's the quality in the VFL team that has something to do with it.

Sounds Like Wood is Struggling and Could we made a Mistake in Getting him Instead of Hudson?

Dawes is Worrying because Tippet was still there at that time in the draft

Dawes' done a few good things in the last quarter, but yeah, prior to that you'd never hear his name in the call.

No Dave, Wood is what? 21 years old? Completely different prospects.

Sandy won by 5 goals, which is a disappointment but at least it wasn't a blowout like it has been. Will be interested to see the official best lists, reckon Anthony/McCarthy/Iles/Stanley would all feature based on the call.

Not Too Bad compared to out Other Results and Sandy is a Very Good VFL Side

would have been a much lower pick had he not been injured. from memory i think he had OP! we were one of the few teams to have seen his form when fit! another gem that slipped thru the cracks, hopefully mccarthy gets a game soon.

I would also like to say that, dawes and forwards in general will struggle in the VFL. he is perhaps looking alot worse then he is.

My summary of todays game is that considering we were playing a top side, to get within 10 points in the 3rd quarter was a bloody good effort. If you look at the Collingwood list, we now have 8-10 players injured which significantly hurts our VFL side.

As for individuals today, the following is my assessment;

* Iles; has to stay on our list, was clearly our best and seems to be keeping the midfield together.
* Wood; Decent effort in the ruck, on par with what Chris Bryan was showing at VFL level.
* McCarthy; a beauty, pick 31 you say, well worth that, is an absolute certainty to play AFL footy.
* Pendlebury; if you had seen him today, he looked like a slower, bigger version of Scott, quite impressive on my first view of him
* Dawes; battled all day, had Nathan Carroll on him for extended periods, he's young and developing.
* Egan; dont bother.
* Anthony; landed hard early and winded himself badly, moved up forward and looked promising late
* Barham; i like the look of this kid, but didnt see much of him today, knocked out cold early (no free kick either).
* Stanley; showed patches in the second half of his ability, but his disposal let him down at times.

By the way, no Cox, Cook or Reid, how many changes tommorow i wonder.

Not for long. I'd almost bet McCarthy will get a game before Iles and Stanley this season. Barring injury McCarthy would have to be almost odds on to get a game. His age is irrelevant. For me he's the most exciting of our prospects atm, because of the need he fills in the team now and long term. That inside mid position.
