The boys play tomorrow at skilled stadium at 1pm if anyone is keen on heading down for a look at our young brigade, Mitch Brown, Gillies, Hunt etc will be playing so im going to go down and have a look.

Anyone going down with a camera?

just a heads up for the people who are interested (doesnt seem like many are)

the vfl boys played bendigo at skilled today, they ended up winning by 7 goals i think which is a good effort. Mumford killed it in the ruck and was best on ground along with ranga who was very clean in the midfield. Donohue was good early and late with 2 goals in the 1st quarter. Tom gillies killed his opponent. The other listed boys that played all went alright but all in all some good signs and i would say Mumford will be playing afl next week with ranga an outside chance.

How many Essendon players turned out for Bendigo?

Would love for a more detailed report, if anyone else went. Very interested in how a few of the guys went.

Good win for the lads, nice to hear Gillies and Ranga went well.

I think many of us are just as interested in how our guys went regardless of whether they play seniors or reserves.

Thanks for the update though - good to hear Mumford played well and I hope he hops into the seniors next week.

ok i will give you all a detailed report but firstly to just answer the essenson question, they had a few, lovett-murray, atkinson, magin, flahtery, houli and a few others.

i will go through how all the listed players went and then will give you a report on the game

Mitch Brown - played alright, kicked maybe 1 or 2 goals and had a few where he almost took the mark but just got spoilt, looks a player though

Dawson Simpson - Went ok, dominated the tap outs in the ruck, didnt do all that much around the ground, also spent some time forward but didnt do anything there, serviceable

Adam Donohue - wore number 25, started at half back and played most of the game there but also spent some time in the middle and half forward. Kicked 2 goals in the 1st quarter whilst in the midfield which included a ripper on his left foot on the run. played well.

Tom Gillies - Wore number 23, dominated his opponent, seemed to play 10 metres in front alot of the game and he got a lot of marks from it so it worked, opposition couldnt get the ball over him, had some great spoils too. Was also very attacking and got a bit of the ball, looks a good type

Taylor Hunt - Played half back all game, got a bit of the ball, did his bit, likes to run forward and leave his opponent which seemed dangerous but his run was helpful for the side.

Shane Mumford - someone asked before about his around the ground work and i reckon he would of got atleast 20 touches maybe less im not sure but he got a lot of the ball and hit some bodies with his hard aggression, really loved his game and should be a starter for next weeks game in the afl, dominated the ruck aswell although they didnt have any real opposition.

Ranga Edirwickarama - Really liked his game he was clean in the centre, was the reciever of alot of the ruckmans taps and hardly fumbled and got in and under which i also liked.

Tom Alwright - played forward all game, did his job and kicked a great goal late which was a right foot snap from deep in the other side of the boundary in front of the standing area. tough kid.

All in all the game was good the skills were better than expected for the 1st hit out of the game and the vfl listed players were quite serviceable and did there bit which helped them win the game. was close all game until we ran over the top of them in the last quarter.

Mumford killed it in the ruck and was best on ground

Great news.

Theres something about Mumford I really like. Reads the play. Would love to see him at FF for a quarter or two. Ottens can't do it but this kid might just provide a presence like Hale.

Thanks.

Good to see you like the lack of grammar on these forums too.

yeah no need to be an a grade student on here i cant be bothered, i just type things so people can understand

yeah mumford was good up forward when he was there too, led hard and well and took some marks on the lead

Yeah I was wondering that - was mates in school with a Tutungi and both her brothers played, but apparently it wasn't them.
