Well it's bloody hard to give votes really because the performance was pretty even - just the way I like it.

3. Fletch - absolutely spanked the 'coleman' medalist (cough)
2. Welly/Solly (damn we missed him!)
1. Rama/Damo (show 'em the ball son - a born lair!)

Great sign to see so many goalkickers.
Reynolds is coming along nicely too...

Sess/Hille almost got votes too for embarrassing White too (who I rate as a v.good ruckman).

All in all, a good win.

Bring on the filth....

3. Fletch : This bloke not only toweled Nietz but his leadership in the backline was importaint.
2. Rama : Pure class, his ablility to hit targets via foot was notable.
1. Lloyd : Really showed how importaint he is in the 2nd quarter, he owned the forward half in the second term, when the game was won.

Notable mentions

Hille/Sess : Came about even with White, who is one of the best ruckmen in the comp.
Solly : Great to have u back son.
Cupido : Just for the "see this, its a ball" rofl! (pitty about the kick)
Welly : Class defending + rebounding.

all up a good win!

Very even game and not much difference between the best and the fifth best.

3. solomon - this is what we needed last year.
2. wellman - good attacking out of defense.
1. rioli - imagine if he was fit enough to play a whole game in the midfield.

Special mention to rama and fletch but couldn't give votes because we won it off the half back line i thought.

3. Wellman
2. Fletcher
1. Solomon

Rama - unlucky to miss out on votes.
Cess - dare I say is outrucking Hille at this point.
Mercuri - almost there.
Cupido - the MAN.
Lloyd - again solid, if unspectacular.
McVeigh - not just a pretty boy?
Rioli - good in spurts.

Good stuff here guys. Very good stuff. 12, count'em, 12 goalkickers. That is the way it has to be done boys.

Wat the hell is that supposed to mean? When have I ever said I don't rate him as a player? Name one time, and copy and paste it for me please. Go on - find it. I simply don't think he is as good as everyone makes out and his performances over his career back that up. He was only 10th in our B&F in his last full season (he played over 20 games) and he has always struggled with making quick decisions. Skill level has always left a bit to be desired. Still a great competitor though.

However, he is just a player. He is not the Glenn Archer clone a lot of people make him out to be. Not that it matters after he has played a top game. We all love the guy! I rate him as definately in our best 18. But just a player. Our defence hardly missed a beat last year without him (as I predicted I might add). It was our attack that was the problem.

You would remember of course that Bolton was in our best three for several games last year and you don't rate him. Alessio was BOG against Sydney and you hate him. It's very easy for a good average player (to use a Jack Dyer expression) to play a good game and then for you to mention it conveniently after that game (as you did just now with Soloman). Didn't mention it last week I see  . Soloman was excellent today, and I was rapt. I like the guy. But that doesn't mean he is some special incredible player.

Just because I don't want to bend over for the guy doesn't mean I don't think he's a capable performer.

3. Fletcher - geez we can win without Hird, but we need this guy
2. Wellman.
1. Solomon

OH a message to Cupido, if you are going to show off to the opposition, make sure you can get the result on the board, otherwise you're left looking stupido. ;)

Yea commentators mentioned this. However I think you'll find by watching the replay that he wasnt "showing off" per se, but reacting to a nice clip over the earhole he copped late.

FWIW

3. Fletcher - No comments required.
2. Solomon - gee we missed him last year. The little things, the hard things. Very good player who in theory should only get better this year from here.
1. Rioli - Didnt dominate the whole game, but when we needed spark at certain crucial times it was he who stepped up to the plate.

Thank you for the essay, where is my ton ?

Danny, the way you dribble on at times son I really couldn`t be ****ed. Solomon is vital to the club, the team, you don`t think so, but i will hazard a guess and say the majority of people on this board disagree with you. His greatest asset is his presence, only a few players have this. I will say he went over board last week, but christ it was good to see him out there. Much better this week, controlled aggression.

Pretty good reply John (apart from your first sentence which was dribble in its own right. Unnecessary.) Anyway, I just hope Solomon can continue the form he showed on the weekend. I still maintain we put him on a pedestal that he hasn't reached yet. But he's still young.

I've never said I don't want him in the side. I think he's a good solid player. I don't know why you have a problem with me thinking that.

me put solomon on a pedestal? i'd never do a thing like that....
now, on a completley unrelated note, i'd like to alter my votes
3 - D Solomon
2 - D Solomon
1 - D Solomon

3-'Chubs' Rioli
2- Rama- About time he played midfield, now keep him there.
1- Fletch- We are a 4-5 goal better team with this bloke.

Wellman/Solly/Lloyd

Thought Allesio turned the game without being great.

3: Rioli - I can't believe many reated his game that highly

2: Fletch - Neitz didn't need to have a shower after the game.

1: Wellman - Mr. Reliable mopped up everything

Apologies to Solly and Rama
