Agree with call about grigg - just getting better each game

Armfield has just looked at ease right from the word go - think will be great down back - sort of in teh dean rice mould.

Great to see the young guys getting games under their belt and starting to stand up when needed - the desperation in the last wuarter especially was brilliant - please, please, please beat collingwood next week.

To be a DR, you need to be able to mark overhead and kick goals

Unlucky no to get votes:
Russell - felt he only really had an impact in the final term
Waite - did some good stuph down back tonight
Armfield - this guy is a great pick up and was great again tonight
Bentick - This guys tackling is second to none!
Setanta - thought he did some magnificent stuff down back tonight
Scotland - did a pretty good job tonight.

worst on:
3. Fev - if the team is down, fev is out! cracked it again tonight and reiterated his removal from the leadership group!
2. Thornton - did some good things but seemed to struggle when moving tonight.
1. Fisher - thought he did some good things but when fev couldn't buy a kick he really needed to step up and take ownership down forward.

At half time i had Russel at no. 3 in those votes but ended up nearly choosing him for best on ground votes, great second half performance from the young gun!

5. Murphy - 4 qtr effort, worked his butt off
4. Judd - Just won the contested ball and ran all day
3. Gibbs - Really good early and kept Chad Cornes to 9 touches
2. Fisher - Thought he led all day and really presented. Worked hard
1. Kruez - Turned the game. Was quiet till 3/4 time

Russell's 2nd half was great, 1st half poor. Saw the best and worst of Russell, but excited by the best of him! Back line was great. Thought Setanta played well and i dont even rate him! Blokes like Grigg, Simpson (except his slippery hands early), Armfield, Bentick and Steve (only in the last, was terrible before then) really stood up today.

hahahaha, weren't we all waiting for this! However credit where credit is due, AB did pretty good. Might struggle in 09 with the young lads coming up however.......... Then again he may improve his game to the next level (ie: either an extra yard of pace or sublime vision - either will do)

We shouldn't ever ever write Setanta off. Bad mistake. He could be an AA backman in the next couple of years.

Special mentions to Kreuz, Grigg (for the set-up of Kreuz's goal from 50 in the last), Simmo, Irish, Army, Fish and Stevo in the last quarter. Although K Cornes killed him early one, Stevo fought back well
