Wellman, Rioli, Solomon, Misiti, Pev, and Allan all unlucky.

Smokin' Joe really had an effect on the game it seemed, even if for a short time. Still a very handy bloke.

Things I liked:

1. Six multiple goal-kickers
2. Wellman playing much better
3. Both Carlton castoffs played their best games for us
4. Murph doing some 1 percenters
5. The fact we won by four goals despite really not looking like we got out of third gear all night
6. The fact the players weren't satisfied with "just winning"; they wanted more.

Things I didn't like:

1. still breaking down at half-forward a lot
2. getting run off like crazy, as a result of #1
3. some easy shots for goal missed
4. lack of discipline from a couple players
5. too many uncontested marks inside defensive 50 for my liking

Agreed. that was the first time in 150 odd games ive ever sene Justin Murphey lay an effective hip and shoulder... and not only that... he then went in after the ball and got the take away to a running player... great to see...

Was going to give 1 to McPhee for having to be escorted of into the rooms after he was hit. What a champ.

Hird was quiet, yet he didn't seem to waste a disposal. I think friday may have been his lowest clanger count of the season by far. Also unlucky not to get 1. Same with Allan and Murphy.

It's good to see us have more contributors up forward since rounds 1 and 2. Lovett Murray is looking better and better each week.
