3 - Choppy (Unbelievable performance! It's CRUCIAL that we re-sign him before/at the end of the season)

2 - Sav (He's been awesome lately! 6 great goals, he's marking and chasing has been awesome. As long as he can keep his kicking boot on he's going to be crucial for us in the next few weeks)

1 - Boomer (Another fantastic peformance from him Is relishing his kick in duties and has been dynamic in mid-field)

Stiff to miss out, and I would find plenty of meritorious arguments in others putting him in their votes, anywhere from 1 to 3.

Was probably a 51-49% decision in favour of Fat Sav.

Even though, say, Cousins played well for the Eagles, he (Cousins) had 30-35 possessions which had almost no effect on the game. While it's valuable that any player gets that amount of the ball, I think Harvey's 30+ possessions were not quite as damaging as Grant's (who had only a couple fewer), Pickett's (who kicked 6 and outplayed Matera as I explained in another thread) or Rocca (who really stood up in the second half, and kicked six from a half forward flank).

I said to myself after the game, I'm glad I'm not giving votes. any player of about 10, some Eagles and some Roos, could have a very good argument for getting votes. Realy is hard to pick a 3,2,1.

3. Cousins- Heaps of possessions, and was fairly effective
2. Kerr- Great young gun for us, and really excelled
1. Merenda- Kicked a couple of well needed goals, and took a lot of marks at Half Forward and helped set up an attack!

Cmon Darky .. If you know Peter Matera then beating him mentally isnt a very hard thing to do. Matera has always had a very short fuse. He never had teh mental game of McKenna or Woosha. On skill alone, Pickett will never be half the player Matera has been.

It amazes me that you still resist to give Cousins any credit whatsoever. If you think he had no effect on the game then just imagine how it would have gone without him. Cousins had 31 disposals and 2 goals.We were beaten in teh centre square all game but without Cousins we would have been absolutely destoyed in the middle of the ground. Would you give the guy some credit.!!

And remember the deal.

In his younger days not so much because he was too busy tearing apart teams but nowadays yes. He can be put off very quickly with a bit of harrassment and so forth, but that doesnt bother me, you take the good with the bad and if he can get back to his early year form then we will be ok.

So a player who is "gone" kicked 5 against your 4-time B&F winner?

What about our other players who kicked 6 each? (Pickett and Rocca).

What about our 30+ possession winners in Grant and Harvey, and King who gathered a lazy 27 off half back despite spending 15 minutes on the bench injured?

With all these dud players nowhere near as good as your glorified bomb merchant, you'd hardly believe we belted your mob by 44 points at your home ground.
