I was down in Melbourne on the weekend and was at the game and I was very disapointed with Brock's efforts. Sure he had 29 touches, but I thought in crucial times he tried to do too much, got tackled and pinged, his disposal was not the best, made several bad decisions and he always seemed to be the last away from a stoppage, even when Sewell was the first away. One moment that sticks out in my mind was on the outer wing when bate took the mark, handed it to brock who had Johnston a 20m short kick away. Brock propt, got into trouble, turned back, noticed bate was under pressure, tried to bust a tackle and lost the ball. When Hawthorn took the ball away, he eventually got up turned to Johnston and barated him for not shepherding. He was the bloke that ____ed up and he blamed a bloke 20m away for his error.
I was really pleased with the effort Melbourne put in and disapointed they ended up losing (even when I thought they wouldn't get close to Hawthorn). I was suprised to read in the Hun that they had Brock in the best and even more suprised that he is getting votes here too! COME ON people getting kicks doesn't necessarily mean you are doing well.
3 Bate
3 Garland
2 Weonamearri
2 Davey
2 Green
his 17 effective kicks and 5 inside 50's beg to differ. there wasn't a single melbourne player there that wasn't without fault...maybe robba and dutch can be excused as they were injured early in the game
