Hmmmm, never put on the navy blue from memory. Caulfield had blue and white north jumper and Carnegie had the Melbourne jumper.

Can't remember the high school jumper given we were banned from interschool football while I was at high school (due to having pansy private schools all around us).

The only other colours I have worn from memory are Richmond's.

Given up 4 of their top 6 or 7 picks in the last few years effectively on Nathan Thompson?

They've got 4 or 5 players youd like to have but a team of tryers around that. I hope for their sakes they have a good year but Laidley sold them short and now they're going to have to move homes to stay alive. Guess its better them than us, thankfully.

But Walker, Gibbs, Murphy, Bower, Kennedy and Hampson have enough promise for me for a decade or so to come.

I thought our midfield looked good against the Hawks and held their own against their better credentialed opponents. Our backs were solid, but our forwards perhaps should have done better considering Hawthorn had two thirds of their backline out. I'm happy with how we are going and I love the signs our kids are showing for the future. For me it is about player improvement not winning this season, but getting over the line is great for their confidence, even if it is only a glorified practice match . Very pleased with how we have held on in both last quarters considering our problems from last season

The Kangas looked good against Freo and have some real excitement machines, but I think we will win by 10 points. Fingers crossed

We can't win the real stuff, but have won 6 of our last 7 NAB cup games.

Delusional at best. Seeing as though I'm a visitor on this board I will show some restraint.

FWIW - North have 20 players on the list aged 21 or younger.


Most key players aged 28+ ? Only two 30 year olds in Archer & Simpson. 3 blokes around the 28 yr old mark that fit into your key player category.

The rest are aged 22-26.

FWIW - Footscray is the team full of old fogies. 5-6 of their regular team over 30 - and very few under 21s.

surely in light of this the afl could just play the game at telstra dome, rather than sending two melbourne teams up north to fly into a cyclone... quite ridiculous really.

should be an interesting game ..the Roos are pinning everything on winning the NAB cup and are going full tilt at it ...they obviously need the money and the exposure, given that they are the least supported club in the AFL and on the verge of relocating . The Blues beat a more talented midfield in Hawthorn Saturday night so i give us a show of winning .
