Does anyone know how many years we can keep a Cat B rookie on that list before we need to upgrade them or possibly move them onto the main rookie list? I can't find much info. You'd think Adamson is more valuable on the typical rookie list than the likes of Colledge.

what did you guys make of Partingtons game on the weekend. I saw him talked up a bit in an article yesterday but i cant recall him being great. stats look good but from my recollection he came into the game late. His season hasnt panned out to be what we all hoped. Hopeflly after another preseason in the gym, he can finally start living up to his potential.

I think he has good potential , is small and nuggety but looks a footballer .

yeah its surprising why he has struggled. Most comments after each game have been that his too small and struggles against the bigger bodies, yet he was one of the few players to play league footy last year. Hopefully he has a good end to the year in which he can career into preseason.

Someone just told me 10 weeks for Mitchell Antonio at the tribunal.

While the Chaterley incident was bad, its an over reaction by them
That's rubbish

Yes the result was really bad but that tackle wasn't untoward. Two weeks would have been harsh but 10 is a disgrace. Guy probably feels like shit as it is so to have that suspension on his record is unfair

On a brighter note there are some promising bits of news on how Chatley is recovering that I've seen

That's not 10 weeks.

How ridiculous. That kid will almost never want to play footy again, then gets shat on for for was really an innocuous tackle

It sort of looks like the jumper slipping up is what caused the awkward landing, not really the kids fault and not really worth any suspension at all imo.

Just heard about the 10 weeks, IMHO way over the top.
Like most Tribunals they are a joke and couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery!! It's a tragedy what has happened to Chaterley, but it was an accident and no malice intended. When you compare this to the Barry Hall/Brent Staker strike years ago when Barry Hall only got 8 weeks for knocking Staker out cold, which was intentional!! Think the Tribunal got bent over as probably were worried about the perceived media circus, due to Chaterley being in such a bad way?

In a weak draft as last year's draft was reported to be after the first 12-15 picks you either have to pick players with flaws in their game or players with talent that need development.

Just looking at pre draft bios the knocks on partington pre draft was his ability to compete with bigger bodies , not a strong tackler and his lack of 2 way running .
Partington Is a player that needs development physically and in his running patterns . By reports he is a terrific young man with a fantastic work ethic , he also has some great attributes thatwill transfer to afl In pace both line breaking and on the spread , clean hands off the deck and the ability to play midfield and push forward.

We don't need to push him too hard as we have plenty of depth . Looks like he had some niggles a few weeks back and they rested him .

Cole had a few pre draft question marks on him also which made him slide on draft day. He always had the endevour and silk but it was the fact he was reasonable in lots of positions but as an undersized utility he wasn't settled into a role . The big ? was could he transfer his game to the midfield or would he be just a flanker .

Compare it to the Agid Gardoud case earlier in the season when he got 2 weeks for king-hitting an opponent from behind.

You could reverse the two penalties and it'd still be a little harsh on Antontio.

I hope like hell he appeals because the tribunal's got it about as wrong as it's possible to be. But he and his people will be concerned about how an appeal will look in light of Chatley's situation so he'll probably end up wearing it.

Was not a malicious intentional tackle but it was extremely reckless. Saw somewhere that he has been reported and found guilty three times this year so his record may have impacted the final result but even with that 5 would have been enough.

I feel terrible for Chatley but that suspension seems over the top.

I agree the tackle looks reckless but 10 weeks is effectively the league telling the kid they believe he deliberately set out to injure Chatley in this manner.

Very poorly done by the tribunal IMO.

The kid has been punished enough and there was no malicious intent.

10 weeks is a poor decision for mine. I suppose it's pretty irrelevant in the grander scheme of things.

The WAFL/AFL are using this incident to reinforce their stance on player welfare and unfortunately using Antontio as an example.

Yes somehow feel he won't appeal under the circumstances. Not a just sentence though. Feel for both players and just hope with time that it all works out well for them, and in particular Chatterley.

I would have thought about 6 weeks would have been plenty. But probably got the 10 due to his previous record as you say.

yeah i'm a bit frustrated with the lack of young mids coming through. Sheed and duggan are both proven young guns and nelsons stocks are rising. Im just sick of seeing hacks like hutchings an mcginnity in the side. In good sides blokes like hutchings and mcginnity would have been delisted a long time ago. Hopefully partington works out for us. He has the tools to but might take a while. The club had enough faith to offer him an extension even before he played a game for ep. Hopefully its not another karpany situation.
