Sorry about the delay, been insane at work, but I thought I'd finally get my thoughts on the weekend game down. Here is the link to the Eagles report: http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7155/newsid/83390/default.aspx
Swans v East Freo
Jamie Macnamara - Thought he was one of the best few for the Sharks because he kept going all day and most of his possessions hit their targets. Was reasonably tightly tagged by Swans but kept running and was involved in most of the Sharks better passages of plays.
Kane Lucas - not an impressive day from Kane with only 11 possessions but more importantly no many hit their targets. Good signs were that he tries to instinctively kick with either foot, whichever is the best option to use. Didn't use any pace, but was well held by both Jetta, Wolfenden and probably others.
Adam Hunter - Got a nice goal after the siren and still enjoys playing for the black ducks. Always tries to impact the game physically if he can't with his marking or skills. Sad to apparently see him near the end.
Ashley Hansen - despite what the score board attendants were yelling at him, he still has something to offer. Leads long and hard and a group of us were discussing how he would be useful to certain teams. He seems to be learning how to impact a contest harder this year, certainly at WAFL level. Thanks JK for teaching him.
Kicked 3.3 and could have been more.
The big man - Notte - another very good game but this time with Hansen in. His speed on the lead is superb, he took a number of leading marks and was 3-5 m in front of his opponent on every occasion. Normally a beautiful kick but he kicked 1.3 and sprayed a couple of others when kicking with the tornado. Could easily have kicked 4-5 but did set up a couple. 1 to my old mate Hunter. Good to see him follow up a class performance with another very good, solid outing.
LJ - I wish there was a bushel I could hide him under, but there is not. The last few weeks has been starting on the defensive side of the square, obviously instructions from higher up, and he performs the defensive role well. Is a pure ball player, great to watch and with a little more beef and endurance, may just make the starting 22.
