How did ____ go on the weekend?

Why not consult the Alesana Player Video Database.

Thats a marquee signing and you've beat the papers to it.

I was about to reply “they probably need to wait for things like proper sources and official confirmation”, then I realised it’s the West we’re talking about.

Another potential recruit: Archie Watt - played for Oakleigh Chargers alongside Gross last year, then won a flag for Kyabram this year.

He and Johnson are appearing on the WAFL site as Beagles listed players.

Not sure if you can take everything on the Wafl site as gospel.
I noticed a definite youth policy seems to be in vogue.
Ben Green 38 years old. Jason Keppla (49) Tristan Thomson (40) and Paul Whitehurst (59).
Maybe we are fielding a masters team.

Those guys are the wheelchair league players, I believe.

Jack Redden is there too?

East Fremantle about to go into administration is the rumour unless they get a pretty big payout. I think we should 100% be doing everything we can to ensure they either join with us or go bankrupt

WAFC created a competition which Eagles almost need to hope and pray clubs go bankrupt. Will give us a good chance to pick up some new players atleast

Joining up with East Fremantle would be great and not just because of the opportunity to put one up on the Dockers.

A lot of great Eagles players from
East Freo.

Looks like Halls Creek product Ash Johnson might have signed with the Beagles after being delisted by Collingwood
One of the most unfortunate AFL forwards I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching, but gee he should be an absolute beast at WAFL level. Would be a nice coup.

Ash Johnson is a terrible signing. We need midfielders you absolute human plebs
Is there a single thing you like about this team?

At full health, Waterman, Shanahan and Reid play AFL, leaving our forwardline at JWilliams and…friends.

With the expected rookie list additions and a new draft class, the WAFL mids will be primarily AFL listed kids with one or two ex AFL rookie listers.

This is a fantastic signing, especially compared to the calibre of ‘marquee’ signings in recent years. Nothing better for young mids than having someone to reliably kick to every week (with all the respect in the world to Coen Livingstone).

Our WAFL team ? Absolutely not.. it feels like people will cheerlead for anything on here if we are cheerleading this

We have limited money and limited resources with this team and we are wasting it in a third best tall forward after losing Jack Petrucelle who was regularly a starting midfielder we are so dearth of options in that role.

Every cent Ash Johnson got should have been spent on a midfielder. At WAFL level we have JWill and A.Reid to lead the forward line and to lead the midfield we have well no one

Apart from the mids we're picking up with the extra rookie spots...

He's a very good signing.

Yeah, with Robertson and some combination of Schoenberg/Macrae/Berry/Phillips coming onto the rookie list in the extra spots I wasn’t expecting any standalone WAFL marquee signings at all, so this is a bonus.

We’ve got a playing list of 48 rolling into next year. Obviously it’s still going to be a young list but the likes of Owies, Cole, Hutchinson, Brock, Bazzo and Jack Williams are all players over 22 who could be playing regularly for the Beagles. Plus maybe Macrae and 1 or 2 other mature aged recruits we’ve got some good scaffolding for our youngsters to develop around

Johnson will be a very handy addition up forward and will cover the loss of Ruscoe, albeit 12 months later than it should’ve been

With an average injury list of 6-8 across the year we should be rolling out 16+ listed players most weeks

Imagine having a reasonably successful WAFL team next year on top of an improving AFL team. That's twice the football to enjoy after years of absolute pummeling.

I'm pumped!

The goal for the WAFL team should be to stay in games for longer and to eliminate the blowout quarters they seem to have most weeks

Six wins with a percentage around 80 would be a realistic aim

How many did we win this year? One? Six would be great.
