my knee was destroyed by a 100kg bloke at Scotch ovals cow paddock... my foot got stuck in the ground and it not only hyper extended it also buckled inwards... destroyed ACL, medial and cartilage... my pain was immediate and in particular behind the knee... lee colbert tried to tell us that the back of the knee pain is good but that was merely an opinion.

I serious fear for waitey as the ACL is the ligament that goes when you hyper extend your knee (runs from the back of the top bone to the front of the bottom bone)... i think it is time we prepare to be without waite for 12 months :(

On a positive note it seems that bower has really stepped up again and is providing some resistance... but given waite was playing forward we now have a massive hole there... maybe it is time to stick kreuze there, bring in cloke and just conceede that we need to run with unexperienced possibly out of form ruck set up

First game I havent watched/listened to all year - the loss was hard enough to take, but a season ending injury to Waite is just depressing.

Not sure if there is any hope, but Ill cross my fingers that there still may be life for him at some stage this season :(

If I was a betting man, I'd say he's out for the season/long term ...

It 'jarred' in a similar way to David hille's knee against Essendon...

I'm devestated ..

One encouraging sign is the ankle, i don't know if anyone saw it but he also rolled his ankle when he hit the ground, which means that the ankle would have taken some of the impact off the knee.

Kind of reminded me of when Burton did his ACL late last year, good luck Waitey, we need you mate.:thumbsu:

Happened directly in front of me and made me feel sick. His Knee smashed inwards. Wouldn't like to make a call on it but certainly didn't look good.

Also, whilst it's well known around here that I'm not the biggest Carlton fan (matter of fact I can't stomach you lot ;)) Just wanted to say congrats for the guard of honour after the game for Macca. Was very respectful and showed true class.

Best of luck for the rest of the season

Whatever. Piss off. I'm sick of opposition supporters who have a history of Carlton bashing coming on here all sincere after they beat us. You really dont care. You'll start abusing us again tomorrow.

And for Waite, if it is longterm, at least it forces Ratten and Carlton to look for other options. When Waite does come back, hopefully it will be as an extra dimension, not as an essential part of our team.

Calm the **** down.

It looked like his knee bent the wrong way. Possibly a PCL. I've never seen an ACL which has looked like that - and usually the doc's can do a relatively simple test to see if it's an ACL. If he had done his ACL he probably wouldn't have been sitting in the bench.

Hope to God we get some good news. Our talls depth isn't exactly flattering.

Sad thing is that Waite was in AA form until his injury....we could really use him down the back/up forward.....his loss will hurt us more than we think....

We really don't have the depth we think we have.
