whats the hell is with wakelin playing up forward?

They gotta put him somewhere his utility I guess. He wasn't even meant to play tonight so they wanted to experiment with him I guess

terrible game again, the game has really gone past him. i dont know about his choice of footwear as well, i dont think that he is the silky smooth player that his boots would suggest

They put him up there to put a rocket up Rocca's arse.

Rocca was terrible in the first half, and he was as effective as Wakelin.

I think it was to prove a point.

Was a strange decision to sit him at FF, could have rested the rucks there

I think it was a tactical move, also he was slightly injured so didn't have the pace off the mark to keep up at a key defensive position. He was moved forward to give us a 3rd key forward option as well as to drag Gaspar out of 50 which I thought actually worked well. Overall Wakelin did struggle though.

Called a decoy boys - chuck him at full forward - someone has to look after him, he was injured and couldnt move - if he played back them he owuld have to chase tale all night! Thought the move went well.

Poor Wakes he is struggling as it is without getting injured in the first few mins - but he will be ok this year when we need some extra height against teams with a big forward line.

Injured and all he was still pushing upfield throughout the last quarter and helped launch a couple of forward forays, not bad for an injured back who supposedly should be playing at Williamstown. Didn't see Cox or the other younger boys backing themselves, and thats the reason why it will never be a bad thing to have blokes like him in the team, experience.
