This is the thread for discussing the War in Ukraine. Should you want to discuss the geopolitics, the history, or an interesting tangent, head over here:

If a post isn't directly concerning the events of the war or starts to derail the thread, report the post to us and we'll move it over there.

Seeing as multiple people seem to have forgotten, abuse is against the rules of BF. Continuous, page long attacks directed at a single poster in this thread will result in threadbans for a week from this point; doing so again once you have returned will make the bans permanent and will be escalated to infractions.

This thread still has misinformation rules, and occasionally you will be asked to demonstrate a claim you have made by moderation. If you cannot, you will be offered the opportunity to amend the post to reflect that it's opinion, to remove the post, or you will be threadbanned and infracted for sharing misinformation.

Addendum: from this point, use of any variant of the word 'orc' to describe combatants, politicians or russians in general will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning. If the behaviour continues, it will be escalated. Consider this fair warning.

Finally: If I see the word Nazi or Hitler being flung around, there had better have a good faith basis as to how it's applicable to the Russian invasion - as in, video/photographic evidence of POW camps designed to remove another ethnic group - or to the current Ukrainian army. If this does not occur, you will be threadbanned for posting off topic

This is a sensitive area, and I understand that this makes for fairly incensed conversation sometimes. This does not mean the rules do not apply, whether to a poster positing a Pro-Ukraine stance or a poster positing an alternative view.

Behave, people.

Can now add Borisoglebsk to the airfields currently compromised by UKR activity.

Edit: and Voronezh Sorry, Borisoglebsk and Voronezh might be the same target.
Number of confirmed destroyed aircraft reported to be 10.

Wow, Russia military targets (not civilians) absolutely blitzed by home made Ukranian drones:

Surely at this stage it is just easier for Adolf Putin to withdraw from Ukraine, declare a "victory" and move on isn't barreness ?

This is what Ukraine has done itself too. It is now a world leader in drone technology. Russia's outlook is hopeless in Ukraine. Unsustainable losses just to hold territory that is destroying the future of Russia as a state. A million casualties, plus millions more who have fled the place.

Logically Putin's only real option is to do an Afghanistan and withdraw from Ukraine, change the narrative.

Ukranian drones made it to Siberia!!! What an embarrassment the RF military is. Mass numbers is all what Fuhrer Putin has.

An operation by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has hit "more than 40" Russian bombers at air bases "in the rear of the Russian Federation," a source in the agency told the Kyiv Independent on June 1.

"Enemy strategic bombers are burning en masse in Russia — this is the result of a special operation by the SBU," the source said.

"Right now, the Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a large-scale special operation to destroy enemy bomber aircraft in the rear of the Russian Federation.

"SBU drones are practicing on aircraft that bomb Ukrainian cities every night. Currently, more than 40 aircraft are known to have been hit, including the A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22 M3."

Video provided by the source shows what appears to be a row of heavy bomber aircraft on fire at an undisclosed location.

What a beautiful sight!

Russias response will be “all drones were shot down by our heroic defenders, with minor damage caused to one aircraft by falling debris”

Trumps response will be to scold Ukraine and Zelenskyy and put sanctions on them instead of Russia…

barreness can't even blame NATO weapons for this one. Must be difficult when programmed to ascribe all Russian military defeats by Ukraine as being down to NATO.

Russia has just suffered a massive military defeat to a fleet of $430 FPV Drones:

Nothing to see here, all is going great for Putin's dream of a new Russian empire.

Eyewitnesses tried to interfere with drones flying out of a truck in the Irkutsk region. When the kamikaze drones started flying out, several men climbed onto the roof of the truck and tried to block the mechanism.

Randoms climb onto the truck to try to stop the drones taking off!

I can't keep up with all the posts, I'm still on the same channel so far (BAZA). By "block the mechanism" I think they mean stop the roof of the truck from opening, as another post stated that the false roofs were being opened remotely.

Somewhat too late as you can already see the airfield burning to the right.

Best of all this whole attack apparently used Russia's telecommunication network to guide the drones. So poetic.

Just like with Crocus City Hall, the Russian KGB have made a big boo boo.

This attack by Ukraine is up there with the Kerch bridge bomb a few years back that collapsed some spans of that bridge and closed it for months.

The trucks which delivered the deliverers of the payloads have apparently been catching fire after deployment.

The video in spoilers shows a truck exploding after already being on fire. There's the silhouette of someone in the truck before the explosion. In this case, dunno if the drones were deployed first. Other images show similar fires in other trucks.

From [NOEL Reports TG]
A truck carrying drones exploded, reportedly in Russia's Amur region. It is unclear whether the explosion occurred before or after the drones were launched.

Edit: [ASTRA] state A truck identical to the one transporting drones allegedly exploded in the Amur Region along with the same video. It's very likely this truck did not get to deploy its drones.
I have seen footage of another container blowing up.

Think that the Ukrainains might have had some self destruct mechanism in each container to go off after the operation? Considering the complexity of the whole operation, it would make sense that they would have thought and implemented this feature.

I'm imagining some sort of self destruct message playing in Russian repeatedly to Mission Impossible theme music to warn off those approaching.

Obviously the Russians aren't winning on their own so wouldn't be surprised if Trump starts arming them from under the table

Not sure even Donnie the dodger can get away with doing that.

Surely the destruction of these military aircrafts is a net positive for Russia? Less maintenance needed, so the cash flow is better for them.....

The one that I want to see evidence of being hit is the A-50 AWACS. They literally only have a handful of those and 2 have already been known to have been taken out in the past few years.
