You know Mags, I was just thinking. I remember the days, probably back in 1981, or so, when Collingwood was undisputeldy the greatest club. Most premierships, supporters, finals wins etc etc.

How times have changed.......

I think back to 1990 Mags and think that we've made the finals 7 times and won 2 flags since. Collingwood have only made it twice and lost both finals. In the meantime we went 2 flags clear of scumingwood.

For all us bombers care, you can delude yourself as much as you like. The thing is your only going to disappoint yourself when Scumingwood finish bottom 4 again and we make it back to back....and go 3 FLAGS clear of Scumingwood and overtake Carlscum.

It happens every year.

The team that wins the premiership always is accused of ONLY getting their supporters from that years success.

The question is always asked "Their supporters only barrack for them, becasue they won the premiership, right ?"

They said it about North in 1996, Collingwood in 1990, Carlton in 1995.

You'd think after everaging over 50,000 people per game at the MCG SINCE 1992, we wouldn't have to put up with such stupid comments from mags.

You'd think after we finished 14th in 1997, yet still led the attendances, we would be beyond such stupid comments from Mags.

Youd think after MAINTAINING 27,000 plus members for the last 7 seasons, even though we finished 11th in 1994 and 14th in 1997 (and also had a very disappointing 1998) that we would be beyond stpuid comments from mags.

Mags just doesn't have any concept of the crowds Essendon had drawn over our ENTIRE history. We didn't just start gettign big crowds in 2000. There is quite a history of large attendances if you'd bother to do a bit of research.
