With indigenous players, people like to compare them to past indigenous players. But with Wayne I see glimpses of Pendlebury but with pace. His poise and foot skills under pressure are first class. I seriously believe that in ten years when people re-do this draft, he will be at no. 1
I think they will judge him number 1 well before then. If he keeps this up I think a NAB rising star could well be headed his way. I wonder what the odds are after the weekend.

Parish will probably get this week's nomination. But it's a foregone conclusion that Milera will get it within the next month or two.

That will be hard, there has been some great young players so far this year. Could possibly sneak into a top-5 placing somewhere.

We gotta get Charlie back into the AFL asap, he's wasting away at the lower level...get him up with WMJ and Eddie

Charlie didn't push for selection in the 2s. I guess it depends on whether the coaching staff reckons he'll blossom at the higher level if they select him, or if they wait until he shows good form in the 2s.
He was good in the last q when the Pear went bad.

Its funny, I just said in another thread that for someone that supposedly had such a stellar PS he is really taking his time to get going in 2 wins in the SANFL side.

But then again, he really wasn't all that flash in the SANFL last year before breaking into the 22. Think we forget just how good his forward pressure is, it's sorely missed. Doesn't need a lot of touches either to have a real big impact on the game.

Cannot wait to see him back:D

I would love him back in the side and Knight too, but I can't see who should be dropped. For me watching him last week, it's not a high possession count that mattered but his cleanness of skills. He was rusty. That can be forgiven in the sanfl as you have time to adjust and get the ball again often, in the afl you will get severely punished instead. That's what he needs to do I think the match committee are looking for before he comes back in to the afl side; to just get his clean touch back.

It's amazing what first round draft picks do to your lineup as opposed to trading them away for unproven key position players.

Charlie has never really performed well as a SANFL footballer. He is an AFL footballer. He has always performed better at AFL level than he does at SANFL as he is great at using and exposing space which is something you don't get much of in the SANFL.

If we are going to judge Cameron based on his SANFL performance, he will waste away in the SANFL for the remainder of the year as he will never dominate that level. Put him in the AFL side and the kid rises to the occasion and uses that pace to kill teams especially on the rebound and defensively.

Yeah I agree with this too and was more so the point I was trying to make. Players like him and Menzel to some extent seem to just thrive at the top level. It doesn't really make any sense when you can dominate at AFL level but struggle in the level below, but for players like them it just works.

But in saying that, if he is extremely rusty and still disposing of the ball poorly then it wouldn't hurt for him to play 1-2 more games there. Theres a difference between only getting a handful of touches, but using them very well, and only getting a handful of touches but them going to waste.

Charlie's disposal wasn't poor, 1 more week of SANFL max or the selectors should slap themselves and wake up to reality...the kid is a unique star who makes our side way better.
