Assuming we beat the roos and the dees we will still need to beat 1 of Port, the crows or cats to make it and I cannot see that.

At this stage I think unless the Bumbers and Port get stage fright we will miss the 8

Well i couldn't care less, i want to see us scrap into the eight no matter what. I can't stand another season coming to a close early, it would be nice to inject some finals experience into our inexperienced young players.

All part of the process. Yes we were shocking tonight - how the hell do you kick 4 goals 16 or whatever it was? But we're sitting 9 and 8 and we deserve to finish 7th or 8th. We lack consistency for whatever reason but at our best we're competitive against most sides.

Get rid of anyone who hasn't performed, don't give anymore games (if that means Yarran's spends the rest of the season with the Bullies then so be it, we'll be much more thankful in the future). Get some spark in the older players. Stevens he'll be back next week and he needs to lift greatly not just himself but everyone else around him.

So let me get this straight. You're actually saying we won't cruise through the finals and won't win the premiership? Stop the press

The loss was terrible but if we make the finals great. That will be invaluable experience for the kids and even the older ones who've never played in finals.

At the start of this round, 2 of the three teams below us needed to win an extra 2 wins than us from the remaining 6 games.

This game obviously hurt our percentage, but overall I expect it will still be the best out of the lot.

We are not guarenteed finals, however we should make it. Worse case scenario is that we may need to win our round 22 match to make it. If thats the case, whatever - let the finals start a week early.

Maybe being one of the old foggys I have seen too many but I am not interested in playing finals unless we have a chance to win one so I don't really see the point this year.

I know Murph has had a good year but either he or Gibbsy would have step up another level, Carlos come back in - in the same form and Fev to have a day out = a chance for us to win a final

Next year Joseph will be even better, we may be able to teach Griggy how to kick, Waitey will be back and Warnock and Walker will surely be prepared enough to be playing good football

And if we just so happen to be having one of our "on" days ala Saints, Bulldogs, Hawks, Brisbane games we might make a semi which would be a huge acheievment and wet the appetite.

We still have some big holes in our list that need filling if we are to have a realistic crack at a flag however. Recruiting is gonna be crucial the next few years.

I will remind the children who got stuck into me about the below mentioned point of view that I wasn't far wrong in assuming as soon as we lost a game they would be telling us how poor a number of our players are.

Young sides are inconsistent, it's a fact of life. You guys are on the right track but we are a few years ahead in developmental terms. Hopefully Yarran comes good for you though because Daniel Rich would have made a bit of an impact last night.
