All out war on SEN this week with the tool from Ivanhoe.

yeah, should be funny on Monday week lol

I think that the Tomahawk missile will be unloaded next week against North, particularly if we play at Telstra Dome...

he was great in the VFL today, 25 odd possessions, about 15 marks, 3 goals and a hand in many others....

with Mooney not 100% fit, Nablett not 100% fit Tomahawk would provide a good mismatch for North's short defence and give us some security.... we struggled up forward when Mooney went off against Brisbane..

Not sure that Tomahawk would be needed for a prelim vs West Coast or final vs Port but in a horses for courses should seriously be considered this week. ...

Don't disregard them, but i am looking forward to it eagerly! Personally i much prefer that we are playing the roos instead of the hawks, even though they didn't look great today.

Anyone got news on egan?

can someone also please fill me on this bloke from ivanhoe, what's his claim to fame?

I'd love to see him play.

Doubt they'll pick him but you never know.

Bring on the Goldcoast Roos:D

we wont be playing at the dome will we? Thats a load of s**t if true. We are a big crowd puller these days and our fans deserve the right to be able to reserve seats on the lower level without having to pay an arm and a leg. Added to this they've never played a Qualifying final at the dome have they?
I'll be spewing if we're shafted to the dome.

TC:eek:

Anyone hear how Max Rooke played in the VFL? He is the most likely replacement for Byrnes

pretty good...not big numbers but was typically tough around the packs... Byrnes was pretty good so not sure if he will get the gig...

if Bartel doesn't come in he is a monty...just not sure what they will do with Rookey... the VFL team has a week off next week so if he doesnt play then hard to see him getting back in at all

I'd drop Varcoe before Byrnes after last night's game.

I'm not a fan of Byrnes but atleast he touched the ball, kicked some goals
and made some tackles.

Rooke for Varcoe

This is it guys, the true season starts here. The 18 games the cats have won will be all for nought if we can't win this one and others. Should be an awesome game, personally I can't wait and wish the Finals had started a couple of weeks ago.

I think it is generally assumed that Varcoe will be dropped for Bartel. The question is over who to pick out of Byrnes and Rooke.

I think it would be better for our chances of winning the Grand Final if Rooke plays against North. Rooke might not be better than Byrnes this week but we need him 100% and to get him there he needs some AFL match fitness.

If Varcoe gets dropped I'll be happy (maybe not happy, satisfied)

I would not mind seeing Rooke get a run next week. Even if he is one of the four occupying the bench. I think that he is in our best 22. I also think that in the finals and particularly the GF you need strong bodies as the finals are far more physical than the Home and Away rounds. Geelong in previous GF appearances were to easily bumped off the ball. We need players who are tough at the ball and will commit their bodies. Max is certainly in the category.

I have utmost confidence in us smashing North this week for 4 reasons:

1. We will show them all the respect they deserve, unlike we did in Round 5.
2. We will be ready this time if they're willing to start using that niggling crap like they did the last time we played them.
3. We will probably field the strongest team we have all year, and
4. We will have a week off after we beat them, so we can play at full throttle for longer than we did last time, when we rested key players 15 minutes out from the final siren, and use the week off to recover. :thumbsu:
