More people are thinking GWS over Collingwood than what I thought.

It’s tough to see GWS beat them. Collingwood obviously have the midfield to dominate with Grundy in it and I think that they’ll use momentum against GWS better than what Brisbane did last night. Also, Collingwood’s defence with the likes of Moore in it are better than Brisbane’s defence.

Not saying that GWS is not in with a chance as they’re a better chance to beat them than Brisbane, but Collingwood isn’t necessarily an easy side to score against at the MCG. We’ll have to wait and see.

Yeah I am on this. Reckon Geelong will finally shake the finals hoodoo and beat Richmond, and GWS are playing seriously well. Collingwood are missing JDG who is made for finals and GWS have finally discovered this unsociable edge designed to make GF’s.

Geelong 13.9.87
Richmond 11.10.76

GWS 14.7.91
Collingwood 12.12.84

If Cats can beat Richmond by these margins without Hawkins, Scott would have well and truly gone from finals dud to stud in a fortnight.
I think Geelong might pip you, but there’s no way it’ll be 48 points. By the same token it could also be over at quarter time with Richmond winning easily.

I think that GWS have the defence to hold Collingwood, particularly without De Goey. GWS really struggled to get it beyond the wings last night but I think they’ve got the cattle to address this at the G. Collingwood will dominate the ruck, but I feel the Giants have finally arrived and will make a GF.

Pies will easily dismantle the Giants by 4+ goals with Grundy dominating around the ground and giving the Pies mids great service

Tigers by 4+ goals as well making it the 2 best sides in the GF imo

AFL house will be looking forward to the match up with the teams adding bonuses to the execs with 2 95k prelims at the MCG and capacity for the GF

Richmond by 4 goals, 94k

Collingwood by 15 points, 86k

I reckon GWS are more likely to cause an upset, mainly because I think the Pies are more beatable than the Tigers at the moment. I wish we were in it again, but watching from the stands while Richmond and Collingwood fans throw bombs at each other all week would be great.

In my lifetime, a Tigers-Pies, Crows-Power and Eagles-Freo are the 3 Grand Finals I would love to see.

Glory be to the losing teams and their supporters, the trolling would be epic on BigFooty. Not to mention any of those three grand finals will bring BigFooty to its knees and not in a good way. The servers wont be able to cope, especially if the win is controversial and decided in the dying minutes of the game.

Will be a good test to see who is the bigger club. Tigers drew 94,000 to a twilight prelim v GWS in 2017. Over to you Pies ...
This will be our 7th Prelim in about 12-13 years so the supporters aren’t witnessing anything monumental like Tigers fans in that 2017 Prelim.

Richmond by 45, 95,000
GWS by 20, 80,000

Richmond a level above Geelong even with Hawkins, let alone without him, won't lose unless Geelong throw a curve ball their way. Something like Ratagolea having a monster game and taking 10 marks inside 50.

Think GWS are due. Coming back into form and looking ominous. Pies were good early against Geelong, but the Cats quite comprehensively shut em down like they did us, even if they lost cos they haven't been very high scoring. GWS are a defensively juggernaut, as last night showed, and won't let many go. Played with a desperation and intensity I'm seriously impressed with. I think it's close to 50/50 though, but just give the Giants the edge here.

You're as bad as McPotata with the amount of times you change your tune.

Richmond has booked a ticket to the GF. I can’t give Geelong any chance unfortunately and I think they’ll beat WC, only just. In typical Geelong fashion they’ll probably ‘respond’ next week and pull out they’re best game, aka Sydney 17 SF, but then fall in a heap in typical fashion for the PF.

Nah, something convinced me last night. I don’t think it’ll be a straight forward Richmond win. Fair point by you, but I am giving the Cats the points. Think they’ll finally break the hoodoo. Beating the Eagles was a big one.

Just taking the piss mate. You're one of the rare posters here whose opinions and posts I take an interest in. When I say interest I also mean respect.

Hawkins out will have no bearing on the result. We beat them without Hawkins, Duncan and Selwood in their premiership year when Taylor went forward and destroyed Rance.
