Richmond will roll Geelong after half time. Win by 6 goals.

Pies to make it through, getting up in the last quarter. Win by 2 goals.

Of course there is. It’s basic laws of marketing and sales. Scarcity creates demand.

If you don’t understand that the fact that Richmond had experienced such a long flag drought and such a long prelim drought (what was it, 15 years?) created increased demand for the 2017 game then you are either being disingenuous or too dumb to understand.

The Pies were in a GF last year and have played in what, 8-9 prelims in the last 20 years? It’s not a rare occurrence so the momentum isn’t there to create not only regular fan base demand but also ‘bandwagon’ demand (not criticising btw, all clubs have massive bandwagons if successful from people that don’t attend when the team is doing poorly).

None of it means anything on who the biggest club is despite what some here will have you think. Club size and strength has to be measured by multiple factors and over a long enough period, not one metric (home finals crowd vs interstate) over one or two years of success.
We get over 90,000 to every final at the mcg we play, have been every year bar one since 2013. That final last year was your first in melbourne since 2013 and your crowd was 20,000 less than our final against the giants. Interestingly the difference was the same number between our respective membership numbers. Don’t be upset though, it’s ok to be number 2.

Richmond had never won a QF and gone straight through to a PF as favourite since the introduction of the final 8...which was 20+ years ago in 1994!

It was way back in 1982 when Richmond actually played a final at the G where the winner would head to the GF!!

A 35 year wait, can any other club claim a 35 year wait between them a actually being favs to make it to a GF!? That is horrendous...the first chance for a couple of generations of Tigers to actually see their team win through to a GF!

And Pies v GWS last year wasn’t a PF...

This year it will be just another to add to 02,03,07,09,10,11,18 - don’t have the pent up demand as we have been there done that!
You haven't been there and sat with 90k+ of your own faithful in one of the most 1 sided crowds ever seen. If you're big enough you'll do it this week.

Last year it was us that shut the arrogant tiger fans up in a prelim and the whole of Australia rejoiced. Can the Cats do it this year? Let's hope so. The melts would be epic.

Pies by 36 85k
Cats by 1 in OT 90k

Most neutrals want an old school VFL biffo GF between Richmond v Collingwood, bring out the GF confetti and the "TIGER TUFF" and "HOT PIES" banners

Geelong v Collingwood has been done, and seeing the AFL's orange Ferrari in the big one would be meh

GWS taking down hot faves Richmond would be worth it though. I wouldn't mind seeing Tiges Pies though, first gf between two big Melbourne sides since 93.

Just taking the piss mate. You're one of the rare posters here whose opinions and posts I take an interest in. When I say interest I also mean respect.

Hawkins out will have no bearing on the result. We beat them without Hawkins, Duncan and Selwood in their premiership year when Taylor went forward and destroyed Rance.
But that’s a while back! I think Hawkins would definitely stretch Richmond with Astbury and Grimes, and you can never discount a 500+ goal forward kicking 3-5. If Hawkins doesn’t play then I reckon swinging Taylor forward might work. He is excellent one on one. Maybe even the old Dangerfield forward trick?

The key for you winning will stopping that Richmond transition. As soon as they’ve got possession at HB they just cascade down the field. If you are to win then you’ll need Rohan and Dahlhaus to have big tackle numbers and arrest them moving it quickly.

If you stop them moving quickly then Stewart and Blicavs can get into dangerous positions to intercept. I think You’ll break the hoodoo.

The most interesting factor this week is that the two underdogs have a lot to prove given their recent prelim final losses (Cats x 3 and GWS x 2).

Geelong by 7 - 94k
GWS by 17 - 86k

Yeah I am on this. Reckon Geelong will finally shake the finals hoodoo and beat Richmond, and GWS are playing seriously well. Collingwood are missing JDG who is made for finals and GWS have finally discovered this unsociable edge designed to make GF’s.

Geelong 13.9.87
Richmond 11.10.76

GWS 14.7.91
Collingwood 12.12.84
Even with no Hawkins? I think we would still struggle even with him.

You comparing a semi final crowd to a prelim final crowd? Did you see the weather last year? Was raining and hail storms for nearly the whole day and the rain stopped at 7:00 pm that night and it was only 4 degrees as well!! To get 70,000 Collingwood fans was an awesome effort l!!

Richmond should try and draw over 1.2 million during the home and away season like the pies have done 6 times including this year then try and compare and talking about being bigger then Collingwood
Fiddling with official AFL figures again. Broken record good for a laugh.

Out of all things to argue about on this thread people are arguing about crowds.
Yeah I know who gives a shit about crowds! This thread is turning out to be a di#k measuring contest. All I care about is redeeming last years heartache and toppling the cats! 👊🐈💤

Last year it was WC that shut the arrogant Collingwood fans up in the GF and the whole of Australia rejoiced. Can the Giants do it this year? For the good of Australian sport lets hope so! The melts would be epic especially from Eddie again.

Tigers by 8 in front of 95k
Giants by 14 in front of 78k

Eddie doesn't melt anymore, he just leaves the game early

Is there an echo in here? Nice copy paste.
