Well, it's finally over. This week we will welcome back Dean Bailey to the coaches box after 17 long rounds.

So now that the Crows have served all their punishments from the off-season (those they were at fault for, and those they weren't) we finally have our full admin back.

What a game for him to come back for too. Against Lyon's Freo over in Perth. Will be interesting to see if there's an improvement in our match day coaching with him there.

And now we wait to see how the AFC will be punished for Essendon's doping

We get our draft picks for this year back?

Brodie Martin will be delisted as he shares the same number as Goodwin.

A joke that Melbourne tank, get the benefit, and then we are punished. That's the AFL for you.

Welcome back Bailey - a lot has changed since you last left.

ADELAIDE strategy coach Dean Bailey's responsibilities have been fully restored with the lifting of his 16-game suspension on Monday.
The AFL barred the former Melbourne coach from speaking directly to Crows players during their first 16 matches this season for his involvement in the 2009 Melbourne tanking scandal.
The Demons were fined $500,000 and their former football manager Chris Connolly was suspended for 11 months. Bailey's ban felt like an "eternity" to Adelaide players, midfielder Bernie Vince said.
His influence on match days and his analysis work was significant in Adelaide's sensational 2012 season and his absence from such duties this year has been obvious. Bailey's first "hands-on" interaction with players, Vince said, would be in Tuesday's review of the club's remarkable two-point victory over Geelong on Sunday.
Vince, who kicked a brilliant left-foot goal that kick-started his side's last-quarter fight back said he was excited to have Bailey back on board.
"We have a fair bit to do with him as a playing group and to miss him for 16 weeks, we’ve noticed all 16 weeks – seems like an eternity," Vince said.
"He did a lot of opposition analysis stuff and set plays for us as well … he did a lot of that behind the scenes work that other people didn't have to worry about.
"He's going to come back and do all that stuff again and get us up to scratch there again."

Adelaide should sue Melbourne (effectively the AFL) for loss of Bailey this year, as why should we have been penalised. Any decent administration with balls would have no accepted this punishment, particularly as was too late to find a suitable replacement.

I think the cancelling of all draft pick penalties would be a fair compensation for AFC being unfairly penalised... or Melbournes 1st 2 picks for the next 2 years ;)

Welcome back Dean.

The AFL should get Adelaide one of their draft picks back because Adelaide were punished for Melbourne tanking.

As much as I'd like this to be the case, the reality is when you recruit a person, you take on his baggage as well. He doesn't get exonerated simply because he moved to another club.

The real issue is that he received such a hefty punishment while Melbourne got a slap on the wrist. No issue with him getting punished, but the disparity between his and other punishments was stark.

Connolly got 12 months too, but it was harsh on Bailey. Not sure why anyone would see suing Melbourne as being fit.

Funny how some thought Bailey shouldn't of been hired as result of what went on at Melbourne and said so at the time. But I don't see to many blaming Trigg for the punishment we received for hiring him like they blame Trigg for the punishment we got for dropping the soap in the shower with Tippett.

Interesting that Bailey who served an AFL imposed suspension gets the bells and whistle welcome mat thrown out for him, but all Trigg (who also served an AFL imposed suspension) got from you was a door slammed shut. You people confuse the hell out of me sometimes.

Because Bailey was TOLD to tank by those above him. He did it on instruction. He could have lost his job if he refused. He was put in a difficult

Trigg IS the top, the buck stops with him. He signed off on the cheating.

Actually, Trigg is below the board. Appointed by the board. Sacked by the board. If Bailey had any integrity he would have told those above him to get ****ed. He didn't. He manipulated games in order to lose them. It doesn't get much worse than that (unless you consider a team doping program). He was duly punished by the AFL and has served that punishment. Now welcomed back with open arms. Trigg made a mistake. It wasn't a team based issue. No other contracts were found to be suspect. He served his punishment and is jeered on his return. Fickle.

Did the board tell Trigg to cheat or did he do it on his own?

Shit suspension in the first place.
