Fantastic. I'd love to see the AFC come up with a bit of a rotation period for the rest of the season giving Griffin, Maric and Meese all a decent chance to prove themselves. One possibility could be play the Griff primarily as a forward while Maric or Messon partner Huddo in the center.

:)

I'd love to see him pull on a Crows jumper this year at some stage too.

Good luck Meese :thumbsu:

Didn't think his odds of getting a game were particularly high a week ago, but now with Griff down, and Maric in a form slump on the back of injury and no pre-season, if his knee can hold up and he can play a couple of good games in a row then he's a real show to get a call up. Good luck to him. His opportunity is now - I hope this time he's able to take it and finally show us why he was rated so high.

I would also love to see that

why would you want to do that. surely you pick the player based on form

Jericho forced himself into the side due to injuries to other players. He has since played some very encouraging football. It will be a tough decision to drop him, but I think he will get the chop when Roo comes back this week.
agree jericho got lucky through injuries but as you said he has played some good footy since returning. wont get dropped for roo either, not after his game on the weekend, i thought he was very good. someone like doughty would go before jericho

Yes Jericho got lucky, we had a lot of players out injured but he has done well since coming in. Now some boys are coming back we can't just give them a game for fun, Meesen will have to prove himself at the parade.

Yeah but form permitting i would like to see them all get a run this season. Maybe with the best performed getting the finals gig

Mark Ricciuto may miss out against this week and have one more week on the training track or someone other than Luke Jericho will miss out.

One of Neil Craig’s ethoses regarding player selection is that players who come in are not selected to simply warm the spot for a player returning. If that player performs (something Luke Jericho has done) they will keep that spot.

If Mark Ricciuto is ready to play this week and they select him, it might come down to Scott Stevens missing out and Nathan Bock moving back to centre half back.

FF: Jericho Ricciuto Welsh

HF: Thompson Perrie Porplyzia

You can't just let everyone have a run around the park. Do you want to go dropping players from a winning team just to give someone else a game to see how they go? That just ****s with your form. If they earn it by playing well in the SANFL and we need them to play due to a player in poor form or injured then by all means gie them a run but we are not Richmond.

Cmon Meese. If you want to debut you just need a few solid games and your int he AFL son. He's only got Maric to contend with (not in good form) and Griff who is injured at the moment but will be back maybe next week or the week after. The 2nd ruck spot is there for the taking.... take it Meese... or leave.

If Griff is back next week or the week after then Meesen won't get a game but if he is in good form in the SANFL then he will be a chance if there is another injury, or if they decide to drop Griff back to the SANFL for a few weeks to give him a breather. They might even chuck Griff up forward and bring in Meese but I doubt that.

And neither was Luke Jericho in any sort of form playing in the SANFL but he took his opportunity and has not looked out of place (much to the chagrin of some supporters). There is no reason Ivan Maric cannot do the same thing by coming into the side and performing.

He doesn’t need to come into the side and get 30 hit out and 20 touches to have had a good game. As long as he can perform up to the expectation of the match committee and contribute to the team style of play he should keep his place the following week.

John Meesen is still 6 or 7 (minimum) weeks away from getting a call up. 2 in the reserves and 4 or 5 in the Norwood league side.

Thats not quite true. Jericho was in solid form apart from one game where he had 6 touches and was benched. He got picked after that performance because he was the best of other options.

Jericho's form in SANFL was solid other than one game which happens to be the last game he played for Westies.
