Well done and thanks to Sinkers - a decent player who is going to be on a very nice contract.

Stoked to have Jetta, think this is a steal and we've got some real class to add to the side next year. Welcome Jet!
You really have to stop posting what I am thinking. This is getting weird.

Err Sydney offered him a 4 year contract at double the money with a guaranteed 1st ruck position.

Sinclair wasn't forced anywhere. Once he saw that contract he was very open to being traded.

I would of been too. Amazingly good deal for Sinclair he gets money, security and playing time and stays at a contender.

A year ago he was nobody now he will walk away a millionaire after living his dream.

I'm sure he is just shattered.
I agree 4 years is better than one. But it's not double the money. Was he very open to be traded? Or was his hand forced?
I'm not saying it's a bad deal. But somewhere along the line his loyalty to the club was stronger than the allure of money

400k a year is double what WC was giving him. Remember when Sinclair signed that contract he was nobody.

Next unless Lycett or NN get injured he will barely get a game.

He was having medicals in Sydney over a week ago. This was no last minute surprise.

Let's take some positives, feels like a relative died today.

We become less predictable in the middle now. In the GF they shut down Priddis to be useless. Bringing in Redden makes us less predictable, gives us a big body in the middle.

Bringing in Redden let's Shuey play to his strengths even more.

Bringing in Jetta makes for a powerful 2 winged Midfield. Add Masten to the mix and that's 3 lethal kicks into the forward line.

So who are the opposition going to tag? We have become much more lethal in the midfield, much harder to shut down. And I haven't even mentioned Yeo or Duggan.

Try some positivity, it's good for the heart.

Naitanui Shuey Sheed Yeo Redden Priddis winning the ball.

Duggan Shuey Gaff Masten Jetta Lecras delivering inside 50.

Cripps Wellingham Sheppard Hurn pinch-hitting when needed.

Lycett as our second ruck.

Arguably the deepest our midfield depth has ever been.

Just need more Elite talent. Banking on Yeo Duggan Gaff Shuey though not sure they'll ever reach Embley's level let alone Judd, Cousins and Kerr.

My only concerns were that the list managers eyes may have lit up with Jetta on the table and Callum gets shoved out the door, which he wouldn't have deserved after some leal service to the club.

I'm pretty comfortable now that things have worked out well for Callum and hopefully he has good success at the Swans. We just need to ensure some prudent planning to shore up our ruck stocks.

In the meantime - wow! Jetta could be a brilliant pick up for us. If he finds form and get's on board with our systems we are going to see some exciting play from him. Looking forward to it already!

I don't get it. Why post a picture of Brad Hill in this thread?

Welcome, Lewis. I look forward to seeing you in the wings streaming down the wing with the ball on a string...

Didn't like the way he finished 2015. Hopefully I don't see that lazy campaigner but see the line breaking excitement machine that he can be

What I'm looking forward to is him turning a little space into a lot of space in transition. We work the ball very well by hand down the ground already, he offers the potential open the space even further.

Also, teams were more than happy to let guys like Rosa and Masten roam about, but Jetta will cop more attention which will alleviate pressure from others.

I really like this signing, particularly when it cost us a bloke I don't see as best 22 when everyone is fit and firing.

Yes Eagles did offload him for Jetta. Sinclair didn't won't to go. But given the situation of 1 year left on his contract the feeling would be he wouldn't be given a fair run next season if he refused. He would rather have stayed.

It was more a perfect storm of events. In the eagles minds pre season Lycett would have played 18 games this year. Sinclair won that battle. Jetta wanted to come home. We didn't get a great pick for Scooter which I imagine would have been part of the trade. Pyke from Sydney underperformed and with injuries may retire. Remember they traded Mumford not too long ago so Swans were keen on a ruck. Offer a great deal for Sinclair. More money, guaranteed playing time etc and we put it to him is how I've seen it play out. This is a win for Sinclair when you read up on his journey he's been overlooked and battled hard to get were he is, I'm happy for him. Sad to lose him, I prefer players staying but it's a win for all. Especially if Jetta plays well for us :thumbsu:

Yeah straight away from a team perspective I see pressure immediately taken off Shuey and Gaff with Jetta coming in. An extra player the opposition have to pay that extra attention too.

Woke up positive today....We have just drafted arguably our quickest ever player who can actually kick a Football :D:D

Just some stats in regards to Jetta's season compared to our list, this is where he would have ranked in our 2015 season

Tackles: 6th
Goals: 9th
Disposals: 8th
Marks: 12th

Best games

dot.gif

23 disps (17 kicks 6 hballs), 6 marks, 9 tackles and 2 goals in Rd 19 32-pt loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium (8 Aug 2015)

31 disps (21 kicks 10 hballs), 8 marks and 4 tackles in Rd 10 52-pt win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium (6 Jun 2015)

dot.gif

20 disps (14 kicks 6 hballs), 4 marks and 2 goals in Rd 2 48-pt win over Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval (11 Apr 2015)

And ranked 12th in inside 50's out of the whole comp.

If those stats show one things then it's that Jetta has big games in big wins, if we continue this seasons form we know we can have some big wins. Jetta will shine in those games.

It also shows that Jetta doesn't have big games against the top sides. Crows meh, north lol and us he did it for goodes in a 52 point loss.

P. Matera went alright too.

Sinclair was serviceable and was never going to be a star ...I think lycett has more upside ....

Jetta is a jet .....we needed a jet

Redden is better than Selwood and rosa .....overall we are in a better place ......Really wanted Bennell but not to be but overall we are in a good place

We've got two new 195cm defenders being recruited also ...brown and eMac

Happy days

Not a fan of jetta, but sitting at the G watching the GF I reluctantly thought - we have to take jetta now as we just don't have any pace to breaking into an open forward line. We tried repeatedly but were run down. Sinkers was subbed out as he was poorer than masten.

Now we have two wingmen of very different types who are dangerous if not watched closely.
