Most impressive thing for me after watching his highlights clip is his kicking.

It's been a while since we could really trust the long kicks comin gout of our back half.

Watto's left leg looks very trusty indeed.

That is one big teenager. He could probably handle the physical side of AFL football right now, so it's going to be crazy in a couple of years when he adds muscle and gets even bigger.

I reckon that he could cope reasonably well with the rigors of AFL life now. He definitely has good form and he is in better shape than Casboult was when he first showed up at the club last year and I think that Cordy has done wonders with Levi in the last 12 months and we are another 12 months from seeing him in prime AFL condition. And well... you have all seen how the other boys have gone in developing muscle mass and size since Cordy came to town...

Give the boy to Cordy for 2 years and we will have an absolute monster on our hands.

Hey guys sorry to intrude but really love this kid and was hoping he would slip to us But IMO I see no reason why he won't play round one and he really does look like hurley eg come straight in because of his big powerful body and great kick.

But where would u guys like him to play he has to prove himself of course but if he does become a good player would u prefer him as a backmen or in the forwardline. Just wondering as we always are having this debate over on the bomber board anyway thanks guys.

Considering our defence is an obvious weakness at the moment and the fact that Watson is an All Australian Defender it will be natural for him to be given his chance in this role.
I personally dont think he is the next Hurley but in 2-3 years time I would hope this kid can take the power forwards of the competition and become our main backman (I hope he takes out kick outs straight away!).
Stoked with McCarthy as a project player. Another All Australian defender who I think in 2-3 years will compliment Watson nicely and play as a running tall defender ala Sam Fisher.

I'd like to see him start out as a third tall and then make the CHB role his own. .. FB would work too. .. If his kick is as good under AFL pressure as some think it might be than having that kick out option after a behind, could be his real worth. .. We struggle in that regard, I feel. ..

Will need to build his fitness levels so he can compete at AFL level where his bigger frame is less of a factor. Will have to get past Austin and Bower in the rankings who will benefit greatly from having Laidler and White there to assist them

McCarthy actually looks even taller than Mitchell in a few training photos, and Mitchell is 198cm.

I think it's safe to say that 197cm and 198cm can differ when one player is slouching or has his legs spread wider than the other

197 is very nice though...can't wait until he gets some muscle on shows us why he was touted as a potential top 15 pick!
