Alright lads, let’s get to the real hard-hitting questions.

What number is T-Mac wearing in 2026?

Here are some expected available numbers for him:

4 - Dom Sheed
5 - Jayden Hunt
12 - Oscar Allen
20 - Jeremy McGovern
21 - Jack Petruccelle

Personally I’d like him in #5, would suit him and would be somewhat ironic if he took Hunt’s number, given the stories about him loving Hunt years ago as a Melbourne supporter, and the Instagram DM conversations they used to have.

I expect he would get first dibs on a number if he keeps this form up, but id like it if our 2 top draftees got single digit numbers.
McCarthy gets 12(or 20 if Oscar stays), then any other recruits we get fight over the rest.

McCarthy will probably get first pick though

I saw a picture of him after the game and was looking east. Go home factor?

Has already been back to Melbourne since he was drafted for a 'prior commitment' and apparently is planning to return to Victoria during the bye week to 'sort some stuff out'

May be his collection of Faberge Eggs that he is yet to relocate to Perth, or may be set to sign one of those Kosi Pickett deals that Melbourne are throwing around at the moment.

Posted on the day you drafted him that he has all the traits of an AFL player, not that I expected a debut like that. He played exactly the same at VFL level, but AFL has more space and the grounds far nicer to play on, Vic winter, windy, wet, small grounds. Good for club moral to unearth one from the rough.

T-Mac what a recruit. Looks like he has been playing in the team all year.
Ran all day and constantly provided an option.
Over half the team should be looking at him and what he did and feel ashamed with the performance they have been bringing.

Didn't the big Q Stick debut in 45 v Carlton

Merenda to kick the winning point

How quickly we forget Jake Waterman started in 45. Matt Priddis also debuted in 45.

And if you go back to the beginning, our first full back Andrew Lockyer specifically chose 45 in the Eagles debut season (we didn't even have 40 players on the list - a lot of players in that season chose their WAFL club number where they could get it)
