I know the whole honerable loss ring hollow but the best team on the day didn't win. Again well played Dees

Yep. Well done Dees, you were better today and deserved the win. We were clearly far from our best, but part of that was from your pressure. Definitely good signs for the future all over the field for you... keep your heads up. :thumbsu:

^This. Your bloke's intensity & pressure today was A1, first class & MINT. If you keep that stuff this year, you will be pushing finals. WELL DONE.

Well done Dees, Petterd, Grimes and a few others had a great match, Scully did will just a few bad decisions and dropped marks - all round good effort and well done to Green on his 200th.

Just unlucky at the end, great effort all day long - some very good signs to look forward to now!

Outsiders are probably the last people you want coming on this board, but all i can say is bloody well done. The passion and heart shown would make Stynesy bloody proud. Be proud of your boys. From the backs keeping Davis, Didak, Medhurst etc. in check, to the mids (Trengrove will win a brownlow), to Mark Jamar who absolutely slaughtered Jolly and Fraser and to guys like Petterd and Bate up forward who worked their asses off.

You won me and many others over today :thumbsu:

EDIT: forgot to mention Grimes. Kid is something else

I'm really sick of these pity threads from other fans. Can't you all keep it in the one thread? We know how well we played, and beyond the 12 year olds posters on here, none of us really need to read your pity for the club.

Mate it's been over 3 years and these posts are proof that we're finally earning respect back from the football world.

You've only been around for a month how could you be sick of anything? Unless you're incredibly short tempered. Most of us have some empatbhy for Melbourne supporters who have endured a life time of shit. Things are looking up for them.

Is there a problem?

what mark73 said.

bad luck dees!

unfortunately collingwood were the better team on the day...

see you queens birthday...

Dee fans that was something to be proud of. I have had my ? marks around Bailey but he was terrific today. He pantsed Mick. Pettard and Green were good and Jamar was outstanding - absolutely wrecked Jolly. Thought Grimes was super on Didak and then went got a bit himself as well. mcDonald lads were good as well along with Davey.

Suspect a few of you upset at umps - I thought they had a shocker today and whilst I think both sides missed some you were probably more hardly done by.

Anyone much to look fwd to with a few blokes to come back. YOu really need a CHF. Your backs play tight, your mids are hard and quick when on fire. Its just the execution into the fwds and might be bc nohting stands out to kick to.

Anyway - prob dont want a Pie fan telling you this but I thought you blokes were real good. Def better team and probably had the 4 best blokes on the ground.

Haha, someone didn't watch the game.

At least you show a sh*tload more promise than Richmond, QB is going to be a huge match. Can't wait!

That's the spirit.....

Urgh, your board is flooded with these threads at the moment, this is the biggest, so I'll add to this one.

As you saw last week I was quite impressed with how you went last week, and today's showing only reinforced those thoughts.

In a room of eleven neutrals (including 4 non-AFL fans) it was interesting, then amusing, then annoying to see the umpiring. Though we missed the first quarter, the rest of the game was bordering on incompetent....anyway, enough about the pies. ;)

Again, plenty of future glimpses of the D's - Green => FF I think could be the winner. It was his natural position as a junior, and early on - and along with Pettard gives you the mobile, flexible marking forwards that can also run upfield as required. Grimes is very good, and I'm impresed with the way Jones and Moloney take on the hard stuff.

its all in his username....

Great effort by the team today & unlucky not to get the win. Keep up the hard work(and prob some frustrating times) and the future looks bright...

Heartbreaking loss but the main thing is you showed spirit today. With a bit more skill, composure and communication you boys will take the points next time. Keep the chins up and don't rush off to Buller just yet. :D Promising signs so as they say "keep your eyes on the red and the blue."

I was there as a neutral with a Pies supporting mate and thought your endeavour was fantastic. The rest will come later, but keep the tencaious spirit you showed today.
