ok maybe it's through gritted teeth ... but well played. I thought it was a great contest, if we could have put a bit more scoreboard pressure on it may have been an even greater game. I think it's clear - to paraphrase Mark Twain - that reports of your death have been greatly exaggerated. I also enjoy (in a masochistic kind of way) games like this because it identifies the passengers in our side.

Anyway, enjoy, you've earned it.

The guys who disappointed me today (and these aren't one offs) were Damon White - too many times getting kicks across half back, out marked by 180cm opponents, no physical presence. He's living off a 15 minute burst against Freo at the moment. Mahoney looked all at sea with the pace of the game. Nathan Lonie ... well I never have and never will be a fan. Our key defenders were a mixed bag today. Did some good, but some bad and the bad cost goals.

Not lumping him in with the others, I think Nathan Krakouer is a huge talent, but this was probably the week to send him to the Port Magpies.

There were a couple of other guys I would've expected more from, but they were one offs, so I won't pick there.

Thanks Ford youre not all bad over there are you ??

Yeah we are ... I'm just trying to lull you into a false sense of security ... ;)

Yes, well done you filthy, filthy scrotums ;)

Gave us a lesson in working for your teammate today. Amazing how the Crows had numbers at every contest, and then at the subsequent contest and so on. Top work rates. Play like that for the rest of the season and your wildest dreams may come true.

Haha yeah fair enough

Congrats!

I dont think you played great footy (you made a ton of unforced errors in defence which we just didnt make the most of), but you did the things that mattered and put the score on the board.

Well played!

Congrats, way too tough at the ball for us, killed us at the stopages when it counted and far superior forward set up. Ohh well

I saw the game without the volume on so I will not make too many judgments until I get to see the replay, but as an observation it turned out in a fairly predictable way.
You lot are too strong and too much of a tight unit for us atm.
Well done, you were the favorites and rightfully so. :thumbsu:

OK this is not being a nasty winner but what is the go with Toby Thurstans playing where he is, he panicked more than Marty Mattner when he had the ball, looked totally out of place bad move Choco, but thanks!! Well done you Crows I'm back on board!!

Actually, I thought Port were better at the stoppages. Crows won it with their defensive work.

It's funny, the Port supporters I was with thought we were getting killed at the stoppages, but I thought we went alright, but didn't capitalise upfield.

Oh no, i've kind of agreed with jmorg, my day is now officially a disaster! ;)

Scott THOMPSON had a picnic on the outer wing and it just appeared the Crows made better results via their clearances

Yeah when they did get it out, they always seemed to have a release player. So it was probably more damaging if not numerically in their favour.

Actually we were great at the stoppages for most of the game, bar the last 15 minutes of the third quarter. Lade gave all his ballwinners first use of the ball. Port looked unstoppable during that period.

I thought that, in the first half especially, we killed Port at around the ground bounces. 3rd man up was the go and did the trick everytime

Yeah well fair enough, the stats will probably prove me wrong - wouldn't be the first time being at the game has caught me out on stats at later viewing. But Adelaide's actual effectiveness in the takeaway did hurt us and maybe made it look more pronounced.

Actually I thought he cracked under pressure a few times today. He's got potential but he's got a lot of development ahead of him. Still hit-and-miss imo, he needs to show that he can get a bit of the ball, atm he's not really had a presence consistently throughout a game. He's so young though so we can't draw conclusions on him. Needs to put some meat on those bones as well.

Scrappy game overall but the crows had too much run coming out of defence for us. McLeod tore us a new a-hole and I have to say I was impressed with Perrie

Anyway congratulations, and yes me and my Port trolling buddies are gonna deserve what we will be copping for the next 15 weeks :o

I think in the first half the Crows definately had the better of the stoppages. THeir clearances generally led to a result up the ground. After half time Port just domianted out of the middle but our forward line was completely non existant so it didnt lead to anything.
