Yep, he made some mistakes today. But he was also one of the few giving it a red hot go in the clinches, unlike some. He ended with 10 contested possessions and five 1%ers. He was far from our worst.

Firstly Simmo has rarely ever used one player on the same forward all game, particularly smalls, I doubt Cyril's five were all on Sharrod. Secondly, Wellingham's best game of his career wasn't saving us that day, and somebody struggling to deal with Cyril on a day when the midfield was playing against traffic cones isn't threadworthy.

He wasn't good today at all but he a) wasn't our worst and b) has been a vital part of our backline since being moved there.

I think it is a valid question as 2 of his 3 seasons with us have been rubbish and looked in that form today

As others have said - no pre-season and it was only his 3rd game back after injury. He was good the 1st week, not so good last 2 weeks. Give him time.

Like all good players he is a victim of being associated with mediocre players esp his midfield mates. If he was playing for the Hawks, Swans or Cats he would be tearing teams up off HB.

If you go on lack of form, you would be dropping almost the whole side!! As somebody else said when you have an interrupted pre-season it takes you awhile to get back to your best football. Anyway he can't do it on his own. The whole side needs to lift.

It's not lack of form . This IS his form and has been for 70% of his time at Wce . Last year may be the anomaly

Is playing with injury at the moment hasn't trained during the week for a little while now is being managed.

Its a bit unfair to single him out. I dont think any player in our best 22 is performing as they did last year. I think collectively they need to get out of this rut.

True. May be the coaches have changed/tweaked the roles some of them had (and were good at) last year and the players are now finding it hard to adjust?
