Played a blinder, best game I've seen from him..up until he got whacked by Hall. Should be a regular starter in the 22 this season.

Best game he has played since the Adelaide final last year.:p

Seriously though, he was very good in the first half, until that big thug "accidentally" clipped him with an elbow to the head.

Swanny and several others have since commented on that act of bravery, saying that it means more to his fellow players than any flashy piece of play.

Endeared himself to his team mates with that act, and just adds that much needed pace and skill we need in our midfield.

You can't really compare him to Sidebottom and Beams though, they are second year players, as Sharrod has been there for a while now, and has had time to develop his game into what it is today. I think this is his 4th season.

Not too many would have had Sharrod as a "lock" in our 22 pre season, but he won't be leaving that side for a while with the form he is in.:D

Like Harry had a cracking pre-season. Think he is maturing as he needed to and really looked sharp. Great to have some leg speed injected in too.

If a couple on the fringe lift like the Sherrif did on Sunday, we'll be cooking with gas.

Very excited about the depth. Still a big beleiver in Cafe Society too. Add Blair, Blight, Redi, Rustafarian - yeah.

Wasn't he going to be Traded to North for Pick 25?

It was pick 30 and wellingham for pick 25, at the time I thought if it got ball it was worth it.

Played well Sunday hope it continues

LOL.

Thankyou you Ross.:D:D:thumbsu:
Do you reckon he's a closet Pies supporter?

The way Ross Lyon walks, you could say he is a "closet something", but I doubt it's a closet Collingwood supporter, but you never know, we had the "pink magpies" at one stage.:p:p

That made me laugh. Did you see Roo's gave him a little rub on the lower back when they shook hands before the game.:D:confused:

hahaha i just jumped on here to start a similar thread.

I was so happy with Wellingham's game. I've always rated him but had my doubts on his toughness. Very happy that i'm now eating humble pie. His effort to fill the hole on Sunday was sensational and deserved more credit than it has received. Plenty of 150+ game players wouldn't have taken that option knowing that Bazza was on the prowl.

It said plenty to me about this kids development, and also about the committment the playing list is willing to make this year!

Are you saying he should have gone after Dick?

I've always thought Wellingham could become a great player. Did I see it right and Gia went over and gave him a mouthful while he's laying on the ground with blood streaming out of his head? Low.
yes as did hall, it was what started the scuffle

I liked his game but I still have Beams considerably ahead. He is probably a bit in front of Sidebottom but he's a couple of years older. He's ahead of McCarthy and I rate McCarthy. All 4 of our next wave of mids have promise. If these guys push out O'Bree, Lockyer and Johnson we will be pushing hard for a flag. Be nice to top up with an explosive, quick skilled type and push our midfield to premiership prominance.

Anyone think Deludio would be a lot better away from the rabble and under our coaching? Not everyone rates him but he's worth targetting IMO. Hard to match the money Richmond could offer but we can offer not being Richmond before we even start on the virtues of being Collingwood.

Anyway, back to Wellingham, he was very good when we needed him to be and he was a big part of the early dominance. Hope he keeps it up.

I wished it was Leigh Brown running back with the flight.
Baz would have broken his elbow and Gia would have had to go off to change his diaper and Wellers could have given both of them some lip.

Hall had his reasons, he hurt his elbow :o didums.

Here's our offer Brett, we're not Richmond.

I like it.

Pretty ironic, because Hall is known for king hitting blokes which IMO is the most un-courageous thing to do in the game. Yet he was bagging Wellingham for getting hurt whilst committing one of the most courageous acts in the game.

Was probably our best til half time. Excellent around stoppages, reads the play well, puts his body on the line, has pace and is a good user these days. A lot to like. Comfortably in our best side, well done Sharrod for getting yourself there. :thumbsu:

I really Think he would be great as a tagger. Got the pace, he's agile and as seen on Monday he's got the hurt factor to go the other way. Tackles well as well. He did a really good job on ablett in 2008. However he's probably used just as well on a wing

I think he is too good around stoppages to waste on a wing, would love to see him put on some more muscle and start in the centre square a lot more. Perhaps a tagging role could be a way to get him in there more at this stage.
