umm hello who did use beat to get ur 20 or so premiership points the three other teams in the bottom 4 (four)
who did we beat to get our 4 premiership points a top 4 (four) side
we both equally suck

If you think your win against 16 fit Hawks somehow compares to our 5 wins, you go ahead and believe that. We understand how little you've had to cling to this year :D

That is simply nonsense......Carlton have beaten Essendon twice this year and yet fall aside to teams lower than them too, does that mean Carlton is a better side than Essendon?

Think about it.......

The Waterhouse thing is interesting. He's hard to match up on (on some days impossible) and has kicked a lot of goals, but do you think he'll ever be able to fit in a functioning forward line? He strikes me as so unpredictable and inconsistent that I just can't see him contributing consistently enough in combination with other players. What do you think?

I agree wholeheatedly with you in regards to functioning wityh other players - he is so unpredictable I sincerely doubt the man klnows what he is going to do next, let alone his teammates! ;)

That though, is part of his allure as a player, the ability to do something f'n crazy, when you least expect it - which is also why I would be tempted to leave him one out insidde 50, and let huim run madly about, doing the unexpected!

He is strong overhead, and lightning quick - and has the soccer like footskills from his juniour days - so any possible negativity toi break down in structure he brings, which he3 certainly does, is outweighed by his ability IMHO.

Michael is a huge loss and I don't know what his knee's like. Obviously he's missed a lot of football and who knows whether he can come back and play at the highest level.

Very Ture, I always try and stay positive and think about the James Hirds who spent what - 2 years out of the game? Different injury for sure - but at least I feel at this very early stage ther club did the right thing - losing him for a full season is better than him grinding out (literally grinding too, bone on bone in knee - ouch!) 3-4 seasons and being lost to the game - I mean if he is 1/2 the player of his old man (and IMHO again, he showed he was - jis first 8 games on the year last year were sensational, until the injury ...) he will be a champ.

Anyway, c'est la vie - we didnt have them, we lost *shrug* What can you do - as Sabre said in our forum, the sad thing now is I am kinda used to it after this year ... *sigh*

The No1 draft pick and concession pick isnt the only difference. Freo along with those two +'s get an ugly little woodenspoon. And i would rather finish 14th and get a good draft pick and maybe a concession pick if we dont win again this year than finish last and get the woodenspoon.

Hey don't get me wrong - no one wants a wooden spoon, and I am disgusted we have won one, especially this year.

Buut, at the end of the day, it could be worse ... draft concessiona at least make a very very bitter pill, slightly sweeter.

Just on Waterhouse, i think he could be a good fit for you guys next year if he comes out fit and ready. With Mods retired Waterhouse is now free to run around at FF. With Micheal hopefully back and Eastaugh helping out you can move Longmuir forward on a more permanent basis and then you have Pav at CHF?? With Koops and Woods and at times Cook or Haselby crumbing. You might have a more decent forward line.

But the odds of all that falling into place are pretty minimal, nice to dream though.

umm, hello, this is clearly illogical. On that basis, you would have to give variable points depending on the opposition. Say 16 points for beating Essendon and 1 point for beating the Dockers. This won't work. Can you imagine Bruce's excitement/confusion as he tried to work it all out?

Like any game, all you can do is beat your opponent. This year, we've beaten you twice. Next year, who knows, you may beat us. But this year, because we've beaten you twice, you suck more than us. In fact, yesterday's game was a battle between two sides to see who sucked the least. We won - therefore you suck.

...and it's "you" NOT "use"! Learn to write!!!!!!

that is a fair point but the point i was trying to make was that this year the teams that USE have beaten arnt exactly playing very good footy this year we beat a team that had won a few games just b4 we played them i wasn't tryin to say that USE are a really crap team i leave that one to sabre
ur right sundays game was between 2 sides that clearly are bad teams at the moment and USE came out on top so USE obviously had that little bit more that got USE over the line
and by the way i can spell any word i want the way i spell it

And so the aftermath of battle gives way to a gentle humm and thoughts of the years to come glisten in the mind.
The Heathen rabble that had invaded the sacred gardens of Eagledom had retreated once their charges had bean defeated. The victors chosen ones had traveled far and singed the vanquished as a timely reminder never to foul the sacred gardens again.
In time there would undoubtedly be an awakening of the heathens again but the memories of successive defeats would subdue them for months. Finaly in the April or May of the year to come they would join battle again but this time remembering the scars of their last venture.

All of Eagledom wondered if a new king would be chosen and which of their heroes would depart. The certainty of never seeing Sir Tommy of Kemp on the field again caused sadness. Looking back upon the great victories of 92 and 94 there were so many such heroes consigned to wonderful memory. But as heroes fade new ones appear and we can only anticipate the the dawn of another golden era which beckons not too far away.
