He wouldn't even be in our top 25 players.
Not only is he soft and makes horrible decisions under pressure, but again last night i saw him give up on a chase. Not good enough, wish he didn't sign that two year deal.

I know, as I said, I'm not his biggest fan.

However he has good skills, and pace to burn. He and Nash could both be really useful in set plays coming from the backline and kicking long. Both need to work really hard to reach that sort of level. It was his goal last night, although in "junk time", which made me realise that he seriously could be a useful outside player if he worked hard enough.

Whether he can remains to be seen. I, for one, hope that I'm wrong about him and he steps up.

He's been pretty good in the last month or so.

I look back at last night positively. We won 2 out of 4 quarters. Some of those young blokes out there last night really impressed me. I think Hocking showed some beautiful signs, strength around the hips and hardness at the ball, can run all day this kid, get a good pre-season into him and an injury free 2009 he will shock plenty coming out of no where. Magin played his best game so far, can get a VERY quick kick away, smooth disposal from what I saw, and great vision, a VERY handy rookie pick up in my opinion and I'm genuinely impressed with his progression over 3 games, I can see him being one for the future just from that glint in his eye last night. Hooker was obviously out-muscled in that backline with Minson and Hahn just pushing him off a couple of times, but he did manage to leap in with some very nice spoils, and seems to do what so many of our younger defenders don't do and that is just get his body in the pack to disrupt the mark. His link up work in the back line was a positive and his handballs are smooth and slick. I'd see it as a positive debut, give him another couple of years in the gym and let his body develop and I like the looks of this kid. The most positive performance of the night for mine however, was big young Tommy Bellchambers. Remember this is a young kid leading the ruck in his 2nd game, he was fantastic. Didn't let the occasion get to him, gave it his all in the ruck, and that tap down to Jobe which then fired out to Stants (I think, or maybe McVeigh) which then went on to hit Mal on the chest was the must purest piece of Bombers play I've seen for a couple of weeks now. We have some quality in Bellchambers here, around the ground looked VERY nice with his disposal as well. On their merits, the kids flew the flag loud and proud last night. We were obviously dogged with injuries last night, Jobe, Welshy and Sammy Lonergan were not fit. But the game as a whole can be seen as a positive moving into next year. Good effort boys.

Ryder would have been really useful in the backline but instead he spent the game in the forward line, why was that?

Becasue he had to change in the ruck with Bellchambers. I would have thought that was very obvious.

This.

Ricky Dyson, while I haven't been the biggest fan of his, has the attributes to play a Gilbee type role if he really dedicates himself.

I can't deal with any positive Ricky Dyson comments anymore.

We were 8 points up and the doggies kicked across goal and Dyson should have intercepted it. He shit bricks and got one hand to it and we didn't punish them.

No surprise to see them kick the next 5 goals to effectively end the game.

It was a typical pea hearted effort.

Watching teammates do that really gets players down. They should be used to it from him tho, does it every week.

Lets hope that this week is his last game and that next year he doesn't get a call up from bendigo as we have no/very few injuries

I don't think Dyson can make it, myself.

However, he has the physical attributes to play a Gilbee role.

Does he have the mental attributes? I don't think so, but I'd be very happy to be proven wrong.

I felt sorry for Hooker, having to play on a beast like Hahn and then getting switched to Minson, rough debut.

Big positive Bellchambers did alright in the ruck and looked good around the ground for a big man.
