Well done to DP in the big dance . Outstanding last half . Even with 16 on the ground they still out scored Altona , gave away a lot of silly frees but still won . Altona couldn’t put them away ! Knew DP would step up when it comes finals !!
With all due respect and to state the absolute obvious, they have superior talent on every line and that means that they will perform in finals more often than not. They always have that advantage because they just don't have the weak links that other teams have.

Probably fair comment, the more physical it got, even with Deer Park crossing the line a few times, the more pressure Altona came under. They started missing targets, and their whole game broke down.
I dare say every club next year will be targeting Altona physically as Deer Park exposed them severely.

To make it really worthwhile, find a way to beat DP as well.

Any truth to the rumour DP players got offered an incentive to win the GF?? Not going in salary cap!!
Does it really matter? Until AFL Vic can introduce penalties that will act as a deterrent why bother with a salary cap.
You wouldn’t think they’d need the incentive. Doesn’t matter. The salary cap is BS and can’t be monitored by amateurs anyway. As soon as the league realises that it can be outsmarted by a monkey using an abacus, the better.

They did knock them around a bit and they were jittery but they beat themselves in the last qtr. Lack of run, poor decision making, forwards not presenting when the opportunities were there to go inside 50 and a failure to hold their forward structure deep. Complete melt down. Having said that forget salary caps, points, Talent and what ever else that was one of the best efforts to win a Flag in this league for a fair while considering how the game had unfolded. They were gone. Credit to the whole 22.

Had the 3rd gone along without the spite, Altona win with a leg in the air. Deer Park showed they still had fight left in them (take it whatever way) and that rattled Altona. Gutsy win, no doubt. But players changed the way they played after those incidents.
Altona have 12 months to get the monkey off the back, because that was an utter disaster
