Was at the game today, bloody fantastic result.

Was very nervous at 3/4 time cos of short turn around and injured players. Great work by the boys to run out the game in such a fashion. Couldn't be more pleased.

I might be wrong cos I was on the wing and it was hard to see the play sometimes but I thought Armfield was excellent today. I think he took a big hit early in the game and recovered to run us out of defence well.

Also was VERY impressed with Johnson. Went at the ball very hard and definitely went up a few notches in my book.

The umpiring was pretty woeful for both teams. Multiple Port supporters around me were as frustrated as I was and eventually we were shrugging at each other saying, well at least it's shit for both of us. Sorry to soil umpire appreciation week but this game felt over officiated.

I need to watch it on replay to get a better idea but definitely a gutsy win. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Fantastic game today, evenly matched for the first three quarters which created some great footy to watch, but you guys just totally outplayed us in the last quarter. Good win for your boys.

Whilst the umpiring wasn't great I think the intensity and niggle between the two sides on the day made it a lot harder than usual ( that's my take on it anyway)

Best thing in a situation like this is it didn't effect the result

Yeah, at the end of the day we got a couple of goals from bad decisions and they got a couple of goals for a few bad ones too. You are right too that the niggling does not help making things easy to officiate. The sun might also have been a factor. I thought I saw a blatant holding the ball by one of the Port players, and when I looked over at the closest ump he had his hands in front of his face trying to block the sun out. Come on OPSM give them some sunnies.:D

  • Port is Kreuzer's bitch!
  • Judd is a real hard nut footy player... plays outside, in and under... leads does everything and can take a great grab now. More dimensions to his game then Gaz Jnr
  • For a 6 day turnaround... the spirit was awesome and we fought and fought like a good team should.
  • We are looking like a real finals contender now!
  • Waite needs to learn to control his aggression.. his act he was reported for was fairly mild... but other little acts of anger he showed during the game.
  • Sentola!! Who is this Fev guy??
  • Johnson and Thornton held up well good on them... White good but still those little things occassionaly hurt.
  • Murphy did well to eventually break his tag and have an impact.
  • Armfield and Joseph are now not only controlling their opponents but racking up some good stats. Armfield sensational!
  • Simpson second behind Judd for the captaincy for a reason.
  • Jacobs has sealed his spot for a few more weeks regardless of how Hammer and 206 do.. he can mark, kick and has good controlled aggression and is not lazy!
  • GO BLUES!

I have been saying it for years, he is a captain a born captain.

You can even put aside the Geelong and St.Kilda wins, but this was the one we really needed to back up the good work of the previous weeks.

Who was it the other day that questioned whether we were allowed to dream?
O.K. maybe premierships may be a far reach right now, but all and sundry now know we are on the right track.

Well done Ratts, the players and for the belief of the supporters

A big thing I noticed is how quickly the ball moves from the back line to the forward line thanks to Russell and Simpson - both have stepped up big time this year

Once we get Walker back there as well it will only add more speed, I can imagine the three of running down the left, right and centre. Is going to cause headaches for the opposition, Army is the quickest I have seen at Carlton easily, I would say Army is a tad quicker than Yarran?

Danyle Pearce, Jacob Surjan and Michael Pettigrew are three of Port Adelaide's recognised top 5 speedsters. Armfield showed the ability to sprint as fast as Pearce yesterday. That was a matchwinning match-up by Brett Ratten on your behalf. I was a bit saddened the coaches and playing group did little to help Pearce with that one.
