With just over 9 months to the season 2017 bounce the RFC needs to source new physical conditioning staff and get the boys up to an acceptable physical standard. Then they need to work on hard tackling skills followed by a new game plan. The RFC has been wishy washy if not neglectful in all these areas.
Unless these changes are made it doesn't matter whether Yarran Houli or Prestia come in we won't improve simply bc we're physically weak and we don't hurt the opposition physically.
I don't want to see the club doing ****y little giggling training sketches anymore. I want these blokes to hurt for success and to be all on the same page for attaining success.
The bar is too low and our boys have NI of what it takes to be successful , but doing hard work in the gym would be a start.

It's not just physical conditioning the boys need, they need mental conditioning as well...

New recruiting team.

They literally just guessing now. Recruiting players like Broad who can't kick is an example.

Same can be said about the coach

the HUN did a poll on coaches and dimma was below leppa as a coach rated by supporters, the drums are starting to beat

Gee I hope you are right. I was 80/20 on replacing Hardwick at the start of the season- 3 failed finals appearances, poor player development, no plan B when things go south all pointed to him being a bust.

Despite all that I was hoping that Hardwick would improve this year, learn from his mistakes . However I think its absolutely obvious now that he is not the man for the job. The longer we procrastinate the harder the rebuild will be.

Hey! Find your own material.

On a serious note one thing we should try and address before the season is out is find a few mids that can do that magical thing and help out the forwards and hit the ******* scoreboard every now and then. I mean, it dont have to be blowing the fuses of the board, but **** me if barring Dusty we have the most ineffective midfield in terms of scoring on the planet. When the **** is the last time Cotch actually had anything remotely like a set shot or a serious snap for goal? Snippa gets amongst every other blue moon and Dusty, well his natural killer instinct has now been extinguished as well by the brains trust. All our midfield does is gather possesions from our 56,000 HB flankers and pass it around for a while and then kick it to JR and if JR misses it, hope that Lloydo grabs it..has anyone seen Conca actually kick the ball towards the goal posts in his whole career? Like has anyone seen him kick it more than 17.34 meters 2 meters above the ground? And here we are wondering why we cant kick winning scores.. we only have 2 who have something going for them FFS.
We were going to draft kids that could kick? like get the **** outta here with that shit.
I actually think it more important we try to address is finding a few freakin FORWARDS who can do that magical thing and hit the scoreboard.

We could name 1001 things that need to be better and after 7 years this is not good enough.
But hey i still get the distinct feeling that most think all our ills can be turned around in a heart beat.

Which forwards have we lost since 2013?

What has changed?

I was there last year, but, when they didn't I was against the preseason extension, which I called in August last year,

If they had waited till the bye, the press may have started , but they would not be in the position they are now, again I say he has lost the players, the shiftiness started after the e tension was annonced , look at the timelines

Hmm please enlighten me and excuse my ignorance but What are you on about.

Just asking , fwiw I think we have forwards, we just don't play them forward or play them at all, and our game plan does not encourage kicking goals

  1. Hire a new football boss who sits above the coach and gives direction to the coach how we play. If DH doesn't like it he can take a f****n hike
  2. No more softy softy approach. Time for some tough love, blood sweat and tears. Players not willing to do that can also take a f****n hike.
  3. Sack our recruitment team NOW. They won't be here at the end of the season so who is doing the scouting now? F**kem of NOW before they do any more damage.
  4. Sack our development coaches. One, yes one first round selection since Hardwick took the reigns has developed in Martin.
  • Conca, No
  • B Ellis No
  • Vlastuin No
  • Lennon No
  • C Ellis not yet
  • Rioli too early to say.
  • Our second round selections are worse, third........
Every day we continue as we are is a day we drop further away from where we need to be.

At the end of the day when Hardwick is flogging insurance and Benny selling tv's at JBHIFI we are left with the mess they made. Time for change is NOW.

I don't post often here now because I have been trying to apply the long-winded and pointless supporter and club theory that 'patience and time' solves all a club's problems. Well, I've sat back, put on the 'patience mask' and watched as we've failed to achieve after a very long Hardwick tenure. We have failed as supporters looking in, all caused by the club failing us in numerous areas.

It's time for change. Waiting with fingers crossed and praying for the right people in the right positions has not worked. It's the right time now, this month, to prepare for Season 2017. The people that are grooming our players, their selection, their training, their game style have failed us. I'm a paid up full member and have been for decades. I have supported AND paid to support the club long before Peggy, Benny or Dimma even viewed a Richmond game or walked into Punt Road. I have seen our great eras. I have seen what has now happened to our club. We are a mess. Everybody directly involved with this current playing group has failed us and turned this team into mush, our culture into a pale shadow of itself, and turned the once ferocious Tiger heart into a poor beige replica. Nobody fears us. We are an AFL joke. The only group at the RFC that has performed since 1980, become stronger and fearless, is our supporter base. In numbers, we now need to call the shots loudly. Our supporter money is employing people to embarrass us.

This week:
  • Peggy & Benny need to sack all those involved with any past drafting and construct a new, modern Drafting Department. If you have to pay top dollar for a fresh set of people....do it. We immediately need a fresh, hungry Drafting Department for 2017, starting within the next couple of weeks.
  • Damian Hardwick needs to be released from his contract NOW...This week (pay him out). This team is not being coached now. Hardwick is in preservation mode, the RFC is in implosion mode. The excuses are over. 'Dimma's Dissection' need to be buried away in our history now. Immediately replace Hardwick with ANY temp Coach until Seasons end. The club needs rebooting, a rebirth. We are stale. Every Coaching process from now until the end of season must be new or different. Hardwick's systems must go. Erase it.
  • Jack Riewoldt needs be named Captain for the rest of the Season and for Season 2017. This man is the face and heart of Tigerland, on and off the field. Alex Rance becomes Vice Captain. Jack represents our extroverted old Richmond attacking heart as Leader. Alex represents the old defending, never give up Tiger. All Leadership groups and sub groups need to be disbanded immediately. Nobody else at Richmond deserves player driven decision making roles. All decisions now need to be made solely by both proven on-field performers, Jack and Alex. These two Generals cover the complete Richmond field of play. Nothing would be missed by having these two Generals watching the play. A Midfielder is too self absorbed in their own game and tussles to completely notice in-game positioning, movements and trends. We need elite players like Jack and Alex alone to call ALL the shots at Richmond.
  • Trent Cotchin goes back to becoming a regular, normal required player within the playing group. Cotchin needs to be just a needed cog in the Team and no longer a controlling figure in our short, failed game style of early 2016. And the Captaincy has become a burden to Cotchin. Cotchin is suffocating under the Captaincy. Sadly, Cotchin is not Captain material. Let Cotchin become a great team player instead, before we completely lose him mentally as a footballer.
  • Vickery is immediately told he WILL be traded at Season's end. That experiment is over. Anybody that thinks that Vickery can contribute to the RFC winning a flag by playing consistent football every week in the forward line, has been proven wrong.
  • At season's end, only those boys with extreme speed (if smaller), or larger monster style players will be drafted. Do not veer from this selection process. No middle of the road small players. We need players who can help win games, not just contribute with average physical abilities.
  • Jack is now fitter and strong enough to play as Captain at CHF in season 2017. Only those who can stand their ground in the goal square should be drafted at FF. We need to draft a tall young guy (no beanpoles) specifically for that position and/or Trav Cloke while he develops.
  • We aren't as fit as most teams, we aren't as strong, and we are lazy. All those that are currently moulding our playing group are the wrong people.
Change is needed while we have the time. We have the time to plan now. We have the time this week to redirect the club. I wonder if those at the club in positions of power, actually understand that the Tigers of old actually made strong, instant decisions based on belief in the Richmond way. The Richmond Football Club of the past was not based on slow, indifferent 5,6,7 year plans of misdirected patience. That experiment needs to be over. The new Tiger needs to be the Tiger of now. We prepare for now. We play for now.

Pull your finger out now Tigers. This week is the right time to put into action, a direct path to a different club from the failed one of 2016.
Havent agreed with much of your stuff over the journey deliberate but thats 97.5% bang on , has my full support

Does the club ever have AGM type meetings during the season that members can attend?
You can call an egm with enough signatures our friend rfctiger74 can enlighten us

He took rance from a bloke who looked to be heading to the scrap heap into what many are now claiming as the best defender in modern times.
It is no coincidence what so ever we have gone to shit since losing assistants and wilba and lade having taken greater roles.

The fact that he couldn't replace his assistants, and he has a say in who, is another reason to ditch him
