I was just reading an article on Mark Barnaba:

and I am looking forward to the future of the club.

However, as our club is so tarnished and its name been dragged through the mud... What would you think we should do to rebuild the club, inside and out?

I don't have a clue, but am interested to hear your thoughts??

We've gotten rid of most bad eggs, especially recently. By taking the bad element out of the leadership (Gardiner, Cousins) along with the train wreck (Chick) and the passengers (e.g. Edwards)

We could do more community work and programmes for young players.

Barnaba will do good work for the club and provide a fresh perspective.

In answering your question I don't think going through sacking every 'suspicious' player will do the job (like some have said). Stay out of trouble is another and how thats done I really cant think of atm.

Has been central to far too much of what has gone on in recent seasons (including the ill timed 'threat call' to a Melbourne journo earlier this year) and all our problems have happened on his watch.

When our spiritual leader is set-up to fall - When the guy who's 'one percenter' helped clinch our Grand Final Victory is sacked for being a bad influence.

When these two people are called the cancer of our club... then watch as we will only be allowed to 'win' GF's once every 16 years... or given them.

I've been thinking about this as well. For the most part, Nisbett has done a fantastic job for the Eagles over the years and is large part of why we have been regarded as one of the most professionally run clubs in the competition.

However, the one blemish on our reputation as a club has been our handling of player behaviour issues and Nisbett has been central to this. Just as we had to move Ben Cousins on if we ever wanted to have any chance of restoring the image of our playing group, maybe we need to consider doing the same with Nisbett for our administration to move on.

As to the OP, all we can do now is knuckle down, work hard, concentrate on playing good honest footy and keep our noses clean. Our actions, particularly over the forthcoming pre season will do ten times more than anything we say over the same period.

In a nutshell, stay out of trouble.
