Lyon wouldn't be of much use to the seamers. Not sure how much use Johnson will be considering his previous experience of English wickets. Even if he bowls well himself, which I expect him to, he hasn't got anything like the amount of experience in English conditions that Watson has. Watson played county cricket for a few seasons in his 20s. I remember him playing well for Hampshire. They had him in first slip.

Mitch Marsh has to be picked for the first test. If you can find a spot for Watson then fair enough but you cannot leave out Marsh.

I have always thought Watson has been harshly critisized. Everyone thinks because he has batted at 3 that he should average 50 like punter but he is an all rounder, and a darn good one. Having said that i always said if a better alrounder was to come along then he should be replaced and for a long time that hasnt happened. Well sorry Watto, it has now..

If you're picked in the top 6 you should forget the bowling aspect when you bat, you should be averaging at least 40 with the bat. And I never thought he was a number 6, he's always been a lot better batting when the field is up, that's why he had so many issues between 50 and 100, the field would have moved back by then.

Agreed with the rest though, Mitch Marsh has to play.
