Tbf you take out South Africa (whose conditions are very similar to Australia) and his outside Australia average is grim.

Forget it. This is the same person who thinks the current Wallaby coach is the ducks nuts of Australian Rugby.
Harsh to critisise the UAE performance considering outside him and Smith the rest of our batting was shocking, his ton there said a lot more about him then many others IMO.
He's played 4 tests in England, 3 of which were in that poor phase of his career where he was in bad form across the board. India is justified, needs serious work across the board.
Not saying he doesn't have any question marks but he's a lock for the next few years I think.

I think they want Voges not just for the Ashes but South Africa next year if he can make it. Going to be a tough serious and half this squad will be gone. If he doesn't make it too then we are going to have a very scratchy top 6 outside Smith and Warner.

OPEN HIS STANCE FFS ......it allows you to get your front leg out of the way .....he rarely gets bowled
Most payers don't get bowled. Open his stance a bit and it would do wonders for him. He sees the ball well
He just cat get his pad out of the way so you've got to change something. Opening your stance allows much easier leg side play also. Watson need to go away and work on it. Score a mountain of runs and get back ....?if he's made of the right stuff

Watson would have been shattered to not play right now. He would have loved coming in later in this test with little pressure on his head

The way things are look with Rogers and Smith, then we have Clarke and Voges to come in, very conceivable that Australia could end up declaring at 3 down, so wouldn't of been able to walk out, plant foot pad in front of off stump, request stupid review and walk back.
How did his replacement go?

I didn't see the innings. Am in the middle of nowhere posting from my phone and trying to find out how Marsh went as I thought this thread would have fired up had he gone well. Hard to navigate BF on the phone

Why not compare with what Watson made in the first test on what was easily a more difficult wicket to bat on?
How about we wait until the end of the test?
