Need some advice

i am 25 been drinking consistently since i was 16.

Mostly Spirits so Jack Daniels,Southern,Wild Turkey what most people would drink.

In the last year i have been drinking beer also Boags,Heineken but after about 6 i start to get headaches and feel shit house.

Done the Vodka Gin and Cider and was not really a fan

So what do you guys drink i actually left a place i was at Saturday night because i could not stand drinking the above anymore which at the time was Jack and Coke

Would love some idea's as its been a real first world problem for me lately.

Alcohol tastes disgusting. Try consuming intravenously.

For a one off, any good beer.

for prolonged drinking, i usually settle for scotch and sodas. Has a nice sharp taste, not sickly sweet, less calories than most other mixed drinks, and the hangovers seem to be a bit less brutal because at least you are getting plenty of water..

Vodka and red bull is bum. Use monster energy drink instead.

Or this stuff:

Beaten Track Brewery. Backyard job by some retired Engineer in Kalgoorlie Boulder.

Drinking it right now. Was a gift from my old man for Christmas. This stuff is quality.

WA boys and girls tried this?

He only produces a very small amount so its supply is short and demand is high. This is as good as beer gets. **** me.

Sounds good.. know where your old man got it from? I assume you cant just pop down to your local liquorland or 1st choice.
Whats some other quality brews (around Perth) you recommend that may be easier to get? Always up for discovering new stuff!

Had drinks at The Royal at East Perth, loving their range of Colonial beers on tap. :thumbsu:

Cool

Any favourite combo's?

Whenever I'm stupid enough to ask future dinner guests what they would like me to cook, they always say Chicken Cordon Bleu. A great wine with that happens to be Chardonnay, but that can be an ordinary choice. I'm not one of those ABC (anything but Chardonnay) guys. Chardonnay kick ass and there's a reason why it goes with so many things - to include nothing but a glass. The anti Chardonnay types are mostly neophile yuppie twits who are backlashing against the apparent 'popularity' of it and will gladly choose an inferior pairing just to pretend they have some sort of ABC sophistication. ****ers.

Having said all that, I've come to use an Austrian Sekt with cordon bleu. I marinate my chicken overnight in a flavorful slop which makes it compete equally with a strong smoked ham. Mine isn't so mellow as that done by a French chef. In this battle the cheese becomes more texture than anything else. I also make a heavy butter-cream sauce to cover it all or else I'll make bearnaise for an accompanying side of roasted potatoes. Either way, the dry bubbly Sekt cuts through all this nicely.

Something I most often do regardless of what I'm cooking is serve ice-water, tea or beer (depending on what's for dinner) and then wait afterward to serve different wine(s) with cheese as an after dinner course. This gets people more interested in wine pairing for themselves than simply having wine with supper. ...or you can do both. :)

Peace,

Living the UK I'm a massive fan of tap ales. As I'm from aus I never thought I'd get into them.

So many to choose from and some are absolute gems.

Sunday roast + ale. Can't better it in winter.

I don't dabble in alcohol as much i used to.

These days i'm quite content with a Melbourne or Vic Bitter. Very open to other beers as well, especially when in Rome.
Once i've had a few froths i go to Candaian Club and Dry. Don't know why but this just works. It is liquid gold.

I used to look after the cellar in a couple of pubs when I was over there. These real ales were so much fun to keep. The lagers were boring as shit because every barrel was the same, the beers on the other hand needed love and attention. You should join CAMRA if you're getting into the beers.
